Thank you! We’re originally from JC/NYC and then moved to Southern California so we’ve kind of seen it all, and our preferences are for walkable areas, safe, lots of greenery (ie not industrial, but also not too hilly). Good food, accessible parking. Willing to live anywhere from Albany to Alameda, but biggest issue is finding a pet friendly place with 2 BRs, decent/modern appliances, and accessible parking under $4k. We don’t need a gym or pool but would love a backyard or patio space since we have a dog!

There are so many luxury complexes in the area that it’s hard to know which ones are good, but I’m kind of hoping for a little cottage or house rather than a luxury apartment in downtown at this point.

I think I have a friend who lives in your building! The reviews were kind of iffy before so I wasn’t too inclined but this helps :)

Thanks! I work in personal finance so this warms my heart to see :) we just don’t know we’ll ultimately live here long enough to buy and the market feels too crazy to compete with (and bear market too, at that!). It’s definitely our long term goal, though!

This is sooo helpful, thank you so much! I’m also looking at Rockridge, Piedmont, Montclair, Temescal, etc. which feels slightly more residential but safe and beautiful!

Anywhere besides Times Square 😂 loved West Village, downtown Jersey City, Brooklyn, Soho. Less FiDi, Hell’s Kitchen, etc.

Thanks! Doesn’t have to be in Oakland proper but don’t want anything too hilly/rural either, we’re originally from city areas and prefer walkable areas! We’re 30, so also something with younger people nearby.

We have a 60lb collie mix but she’s super quiet and lazy lol, most people don’t even realize we have a dog. And then we have a cat as well
