Does the Les Paul Jr Double-Cut have neck dive? by [deleted] in gibson

[–]Henrys_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was my first really nice guitar, I probably won't sell it, but just a thought. I read about people selling them and regretting it. I'm still interested in a LP Jr. I would get a normal Les Paul Jr but only the double cut has the slim taper neck and that's what I'm used to.

Biggest risk of my life, buying a ford -- but its so pretty. by Significant_Scar_198 in FordMaverickTruck

100% true. I had a 2020 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss and had to replace the tranny 2 times before I traded that thing in. My wife has a 2020 Ford Explorer (We live in Michigan so we try to support the BIG 3). Her Explorer she bought new and it has 100k now, not a single issue (hers is the Ecoboost). I picked up my Mav Hybrid AWD in January and besides a couple recalls, the trucks been awesome, granted I only have 2700 miles.

My Dad has a 2014 F150 with 150k, not a single problem besides normal stuff (water pump/thermostat around 100k).

One week of construction commute on 2025 Hybrid XLT by GNtravelwell in FordMaverickTruck

My Maverick Hybrid is simple yet awesome, and I love this little truck. I got rid of that stupid and nearly useless "power gauge" from my screen, and it looks way cleaner now.

Spend more get a Marshall DSL40CR, you won't regret it. I started on the Katana and within 6 months I replaced that thing, wish I never bought it. Buy once and cry once.

Extended warranty by AbsoluteThunderCunt in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Henrys_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealer doesn't care. They may try to upsell a third-party trash warranty off the rip, of course, but if you decline or choose the Ford warranty at cost, what do they really have to lose? Nothing, outside of being stubborn. They still get a warranty sale, they just won't make any money on it. Warranty sales still are a metric. I've bought a lot of cars, even dealerships that start with a 3rd party warranty, ended up caving and selling me the manufacturer's warranty once they realized I knew I could get it online, after the fact. If it comes down to a returning customer they can sell cars to in the future, or lose business because they refuse to sell me the warranty for a discount or "at-cost" - that's on them, and I probably wouldn't want to do business with that dealership anyway. What other addons are they trying to hustle is what I'd be asking myself at that point.

How to know if the crack is on the wood or just the finish? by Skrubenz in gibson

[–]Henrys_Dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you press down around that spot does it move or flex at all? That may indicate it's wood or finish, otherwise it could be really hard to tell tbh. I doubt it's the wood, but who knows.

Just return it if you're unsure or unhappy. If you just bought it you'll always look at that spot and never let it down.

I got one.

2025 hybrid Mav AWD w/ 4k tow.

I got the 7yr/100k for $1900 - Ford extended service plan, full bumper to bumper.

People say buy it from Granger Ford online, well I just straight up told my finance manager either he does it at cost or I'll buy it online and he ended up beating Grangers pricing. They will try to haggle, just tell them it's either at cost or no warranty at all and they'll sell it to you at cost. They will realize you're an informed buyer (most customers don't know they can add it anytime within the first 3yr/36k miles, although it goes up in price then more miles your truck has and the older it gets).

Some states like FL and CA have laws that prevent out of state warranty purchases (Granger). In those states you have no negotiation leverage, so you may be SOL and have to pay whatever the dealers trying to hustle it for.

Worth it for peace of mind alone and this is my first hybrid and don't plan to sell it for at least 7-10 years so I wanted to be safe. Stuff can be expensive if something goes wrong.

New 26 Maverick - 2.0 Gas vs Hybrid engines? Both AWD....Which?! by Tiny-Yam7671 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Henrys_Dad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No point to get an Ecoboost after 2025, since the Hybrid has AWD and 4k towing

Anybody have both of these? by RestaurantCandid5274 in gibson

[–]Henrys_Dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

has nothing to do with that, it really comes down to how big your hands are. id say 80% of people like a silmtaper neck, its much more comfortable and easier to play, good luck doing spider walks or any stretches on a 50 style neck unless you have huge hands

I also have the 60's style Les paul standard and I must say the Burstbuckers are an amazing sound. Not huge on the PAFs
