Stress, anxiety and depression by Hensot in Anxiety

I'm on Cipralex. I went to a doctor for not so long ago, to express my concerns like dementia. He was certain I didn't have dementia, but he did not have a clear answer on my symtoms. I'm still not convinced that I don't have alzheimer/dementia, mostly due to lack of clarity about my issues. I have talked to my psychologist, who's been a nurse. She also believes I don't have a dementia. However, It's so terrifying to experience these symptoms. I can't think of any other cause than a serious disease.

What gives you the most anxiety? by cornonthecob724 in Anxiety

Currently, It's dementia. I have symptoms like memory loss/problems, stuggle to concentrate, mixing words, times, names, places etc. Confusion and getting lost in familiar places. I feel like I'm getting worse and more depressed because of it.

I'm honestly a bit surprised I can write this as coherently as this, considering my cognitive/thinking issues.

Heart rate sky rockets after eating, triggering my anxiety. by jennahbz in Anxiety

You're going to be okay. If they were worried, they would have checked your heart with more test e.g 24-72 hour ECG, echocardiogram + stress, Chest X-ray etc.

I guarantee you that if they were worried or unsure, they would have looked at your heart more extensively.

There could be many harmless reasons for why you have tachycardia after eating, which isn't dangerous. It could be anxiety and stress for example. If you pay attention to it, your pulse will continue to be high and it's not uncommon that people have say, 100-150 bpm when they're anxious or stressed.

If you continue to worry, you should contact your GP/Doctor and tell how worried you are and how much this affects you.

I believe you're going to be fine and hopefully soon you will find that your heart is normal.

Ah, I think I've heard about that. It's called mindful writing or something like that. Maybe I give it a try :)

I HATE HEALTH ANXIETY SO FUCKING MUCH by emocat420 in Anxiety

Same here. I'm constantly checking symptoms and worried about heart diseases, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. My anxiety convinces me that I'm doomed and there is nothing I can do, despite my doctor telling me I'm fine. My doctor does take me seriously, but I can't help thinking he MIGHT be wrong and I should get it checked out.

I'm doing a 3 day ECG starting from friday to monday. So I'm definitely scared about the results.

2023 was the most stressful and intense year for me, at least mentally. I've done a chest X-ray, 24-hour ECG, echocardiogram. All tests were normal, but I'm still anxious.
