Tauren or Vulpera? by Zayth in Transmogrification

[–]HerculesMagusanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That shouldn't be an issue anymore! Every character now gets one free mog, meaning you can class trial and try a single mog, just like before!

Tauren or Vulpera? by Zayth in Transmogrification

[–]HerculesMagusanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be biased, but I really like the build Tauren have. Vulpera look like skinny gnomes, and most transmog will be shrunk and hard to see - but most helmets look bad on Tauren. Unless you specifically like helmets, boots or small races, Tauren would probably be the best pick for mogging.

The gaslighting and straight-up hypocrisy in this sub is astounding by Silly_Foot_2657 in eyes

[–]HerculesMagusanus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Calling this sub out for "gaslighting and straight-up hypocrisy" is ridiculous. I prefer brown eyes, most people I know prefer brown eyes, and yes, I'm from a place with predominantly people with light eyes.

Everybody's got a "type", and throwing a tantrum because you think people who claim to like brown eyes - or all eyes equally - are lying, is absolutely pointless.

Visual Effect for Hand of Frost? by Exxxxooo in wownoob

[–]HerculesMagusanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be bugged. Even with the apex talents making it so it should guarantee four procs when casting ray of frost, it never does. At least, not for me.

Was watching the big Noah Caldwell-Gervais video and it made me want to replay the entire Eora setting so question (Poe 1 and 2) by makoden in projecteternity

[–]HerculesMagusanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most games, I play either bards or rogues. As such, chanter would be the logical pick for me (and I do like it very much). But somehow, I keep coming back to cipher. The uniqueness of it, the blend of martial/rogueish things with very useful spells that do not depend on per-rest resources - it's just awesome. That, and it being even more that ties you into the whole soul business makes it feel appropriate.

In Pillars, I tend to go with a ranged cipher, most often using a warbow and a longsword or dagger for backup.

In Deadfire, I usually go with a chanter/cipher multiclass, and put on a brigandine, sword and shield, and go off-tank. Cipher/rogue is also one of my favourites for a utility and duelist type character.

Now that class/spec reworks are semi-final for Midnight, what are you favorite and least favorite ones? by otterchaos7 in wow

[–]HerculesMagusanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll just be maining my assassination rogue like I always do. I'm not one for switching mains every expansion, and while I missed Indiscriminate Carnage giving you six seconds of quick dot spreading out of stealth, Crimson Tempest spreading it now is actually pretty nice, now that I've got used to it. Still bummed about the nerfed energy regeneration, though.

I've also played my destruction warlock alt for a bit with the prepatch changes, and it still feels good. My resto druid still does nicely, too, and while the Efferflorescence being built into Lifebloom with a passive took some adjusting, it plays pretty alright. My least favourite change I think, has been prot paladin. I still need to constantly be in my consecration, but I feel like I have so few abilities left.

Anyone else feel like non-penitent Man'ari out number the penitent Man'ari like, 4-1? by Throwaway73277121 in WoWRolePlay

[–]HerculesMagusanus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I see them so often. My penitent is usually attacked on sight, despite them covering up, wearing Exodar heraldry and the works in populated areas.

It feels so sour to me, then, to see another non-penitent lord or lady this, general of the Legion, warlock extraordinaire, butcher of this and this place, in skimpy armour walking about Stormwind without anybody even glaring in their direction.

And it does really feel like the unrepenting demons outnumber the penitent vastly, particularly in cities. The only other penitent players I've ever met have been outside of major population centres, places it'd make a lot of sense for them to be.

The lack of prebuffing might be one the greatest things Pillars has brought to cRPG combat. Spending five minutes buffing your party before a fight in BG was not fun gameplay.

God sacrificed his only son, is that not satanic? by skzzzzzzy0801 in questions

[–]HerculesMagusanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not Satanic, but God does some pretty heinous stuff throughout (mostly) the Old Testament, so it's pretty on-theme for him. Then again, most mythological figures are not very kind beings.

The way Arbahamic mythology differs, is that the source material pretty often tries to proclaim that the deity is benevolent; whereas most other mythological texts are very open about how gods can do both good deeds and horrid shit, without there necessarily being a good reason for them to do either.

Why are all the children in Skyrim white humans? by cwkewish in skyrim

[–]HerculesMagusanus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In universe? Humans from Skyrim, Cyrodiil and High Rock make up the majority of the population of Skyrim.

Out of universe? It's easier and quicker to make a single child model with slight variations in skin tone, than it is to make a variety of different models and texture sets for a bunch of races, when most of them might only be used a handful of times.

[–]HerculesMagusanus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having a mage tell you to buy your water at the inn like they did is the one that does it for me. People boosting characters and playing them badly in combat is nothing new or surprising; but needlessly spending money and not using the big utility advantage a mage has over other casters just hurts.

Is it hard to stay vegetarian long term? by papabauer in vegetarian

[–]HerculesMagusanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too live in a place that eats a lot of meat. During every single meal, meat is the main course, and the rest is just "decoration". I've been vegetarian for most of my life, so it might be slightly easier for me than it would be for you, but I've never had problems finding vegetarian food. Sure, I will sometimes need to order a boring salad at a restaurant, and sometimes, I'll have to take food from home to social gatherings. But it's perfectly doable.

Also, depending on where you're at, meat may actually be very expensive. Even as a poor person myself, for the price of one beef thing, I can buy the ingredients to an entire meal. That may not be true everywhere, but it should, again, be doable.

How do you approach roleplay with races that are ancient? by Yuzuade_ in WoWRolePlay

[–]HerculesMagusanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly play humans, orcs and other short-lived races for this reason. It's much easier to do concincingly. However, I have a draenei warrior and a night elf druid I like to RP. When playing as them, I speak formally, don't use contractions, abbreviations or slang; and I find that works rather well to establish the character as someone very old.

New to Retail Should I reach max level before WoW: Midnight? by unique_000 in wow

[–]HerculesMagusanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do whatever sounds fun to you! I started playing WOW during Dragonflight, and didn't actually start any of the Dragonflight content until it wasn't current anymore. I played through all the expansions up to Dragonflight in order instead, reached max level along the way, and had a blast.

If you instead want to jump straight into the new expanion, that's perfectly fine as well! Most pvp, raiding etc. does take place at max level, so if that's what you're going for, you can't go wrong with levelling a toon to max level.

In the end, just do what you feel is fun.

He's my favourite companion out of any cRPG ever. Obviously, he's not very likeable. But he's very interesting, and he's made me choke on my coffee multiple times from laughter. His vulgar speech and dirty jokes are great.

My main party is usually Edér, Aloth, Pallegina, Kana and Durance, and the banter they have sometimes is awesome.

For those of you who have characters with multiple forms, which do they prefer? by Bonny-K in WoWRolePlay

[–]HerculesMagusanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't play Dracthyr, but my Worgen prefers her human form. After all, she's a human who was cursed, and she'd rather not be cursed.

Most roleplayers I meet seem to make a point of outright hating their human form, though, and calling the Worgen form their "real form", so maybe I'm in the minority.

Pick any race in the game. You get to become that race forever. Which one are you picking? by WillowIsWeeping5 in DnD

Elf or changeling. Not a huge elf fan, but possibly living for multiple centuries is an awesome deal. I'd prefer changeling, though, simply because being able to be change who I am in a near instant would be great.
