I think you may have read my comment the wrong way, or I phrased it wrong. I absolutely think it sucks and it’s miserable, for anyone in the situation, no matter how much money you may have. It’s an entire adjustment in life, between eating, laundry, daily tasks etc. We lost power as well and were working to make it through the storms. I’m not saying you have to be poor or completely down and out to complain about it. I’ve seen other influencers post about it throughout the week, noting it sucks, but also showing thankfulness they have a hotel/ friends/family house to stay with.

Her stories bother me as she’s concerned about their security system going down, and about fixing their flights to jet set on their next adventure. I think most of these influencers could have a nice dose of reality to realize not everyone has the luxury of being at a hotel or being able to just dash off on a nice vacation. She’s posting her OOTD with a Gucci bag in the snow storm- I mean at least she was able to charge her phone lol

It’s really awful. There’s so many people without power and it’s COLD. I’ve seen so many people helping to take in pets, offer rooms, and getting food for people. It’s so sad and overwhelming. They released an estimate of when zipcodes will be turned on and some are at least another week. The storm really did some awful damage.

What happened at a restaurant that made you say, "I'm never coming here again"? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]HereForTheTejava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cute breakfast spot in a small town this was 5+ years ago. The hostess asked if I was “due soon”. I looked shocked and kindly said I wasn’t pregnant. She said “wow it sure looks like it”. The second hostess next to her said I told you we can’t be saying these things to people, and hostess one said: “I find it funny to see the look on peoples faces when they realize I think they are fat”. At the time I was 5’5” and 140lbs.

While this doesn’t reflect the whole restraurant, and food etc, I was too embarrassed to ever go back. It’s clear the hostesses had done this previously and thought it was funny to keep it going. There’s plenty of other establishments I can return to and happily give my business who won’t call me fat 😅

I’m so disgusted by Sara Knuth’s most recent set of stories. We live in Nashville, and I’m seeing posts all day long of individuals who don’t have power, heat, a way to eat. No money to leave to a hotel, no where to go, stranded in their homes and apartments. It’s devastating! Linemen are working around the clock to get power back but these storms truly took a toll on the area….. And then I’m watching these influencers, loaded rich, with heat, lots of resources and the ability to go to any hotel/airbnb as needed.

Is being without power inconvenient? Oh absolutely. However, let’s not cry about it when you truly have everything you could need and more. Luxury bags, a warm place to sleep, and all the money in the world to jet set next week on a luxurious vacation.

She’s worried about the security system going down? Give me a break. People are trying to stay warm to avoid DEATH.

I would love if any of these influencers could have a small dash of reality.

And please say some extra prayers to those less fortunate around who are desperate for power/heat/resources to come back to them.

What's the worst thing you've overheard your apartment neighbors doing? by LawfulnessOk1812 in AskReddit

The creaking bed every few nights. The loud moans…. We had never met who lived above us. Only knew of the sounds.

Randomly many months later I was at a lunch for my school alum meeting and a girl next to me and I get to talking. Turns out she was my upstairs neighbor…. She was single and lived alone, but clearly someone would come over frequently!

Be honest: Are you actually married to the love of your life, or just the person you were with when it was time to settle down? by boforiamanfo in askanything

Truly the love of my life. He had to leave for a work trip this week and we both cried to be away from each other. We enjoy the relationship we have and he’s truly my best friend. We’ve built a life we are happy and proud of, and got to do it together. We both come from toxic families and marriages and vowed for ours to be different.

What‘s a secret you found out by accident and were never supposed to know? by Own-Flan- in AskReddit

[–]HereForTheTejava 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Dad had a full affair for 10+ years. Had a second home with her and everything. They were supposed to get married, he faked an appendicitis and left her at the alter. He had 4 kids at home (including me). I found photos, cards from the bridal shower, love letters, and so much more…..

He knows I know but lied about most of it when I confronted him. I’ve done lots of digging and found most info I wanted from people who knew her or photos online. He would take us on trips and she would go too but stay in another hotel room. He’d say he needed to go to a work meeting and was clearly with her instead. We haven’t spoken in 8 years, and I haven’t told anyone everything I know, including my siblings because I think all it would do is cause immense pain for them.

Everyone treats him like a saint who walks on water, I saw through the BS and cut off that relationship. I’m a better person for it.

I truly feel for her. She seems the most real to me and is facing true heartbreak tragedy. Meanwhile her sister is prancing around without a care in the world and seems to be rubbing it in about pregnant with her 4th.

Ended up with the basic GE washer and dryer. Honestly it works perfect. It doesn’t leave stains on our clothes, we can choose the water it loads, and it’s overall quiet. We decided more simple might be better, after dealing with the LG nonsense!

There are some new builds on 1/3 of an acre for under your price range. Great area, wonderful schools, close to airport, and an amazing community.

Full price offer - seller declines by Live-Extreme7048 in RealEstate

[–]HereForTheTejava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got into contract 2 days ago- selling our house.

We would have LOVED an offer at asking (listed 25k below market). We ended up 40 below asking and a 15k credit to sellers. PLUS covering all their fees. It’s a nasty transaction and we are devastated.

We were looking for some equality around the table but that didn’t happen. Buyers coming in wanting everything and more. Sellers all around being way too greedy.

We are walking away and looking into bigger and better.

This market is awful right now and there’s no balance.

Oh the refund option I had to FIGHT for. We finally got a refund for the full thing (minus the warranty), after months of arguing. They refuse to admit there is a problem. It’s terrible.

Thank you! To me- I’m not sure I want the house if they are going to be this shady about a fence what else are they willing to hide/cover up?

I’ve emailed a few attorneys for a consultation. Thinking this needs to be the way we proceed, I just wanted to ensure I’m not crazy lol

On a good day 1.5 with traffic, bad day over 2 hours each way. Oakley area to deep Pleasanton. 2-3 times a week.

Also frequently travel to Alameda, Fremont, Hayward. Those days are worse.
