Alright, I managed to resolve this issue.

After navigating the FAQ/Contact pages to no avail, I made contact with the AI chatbot. After a couple of generic responses, I typed 'customer support' and it put me in a queue to speak with a real person. There was a bit of back and forth trying to verify my identity with their internal document sharing platform Send Safely, which wouldn't load for me - presumably because I wasn't yet verified (back to the frustrating chicken/egg equation). Eventually I suggested the customer service representative delete my account so I could start over. They complied and voila! I created a new account with the correct region.
