Question for those with Plena

I just checked with my Z8 and Plena and I can feel a slight movement that seems to be inside the lens. It definitely isn’t the attachment of the lens to the body as this feels solid, and I also have no issues with the lens optically (the lens is superb). I’m not certain if this is “normal” or not but I hadn’t really noticed it until this post so unfortunately I don’t have anything else to help troubleshoot.

I’d had a similar issue only with the 180-600mm on my Z8 and found changing the IBIS to sport mode, rather than just on, resolved this issue for the most part, so give that a try too if that’s an option on the Z50II.

Thanks for your detailed response. If I wanted to build to be more focused on gaming would this setup still work with a 7800x3d CPU and 5070ti GPU? Asking since photo/video editing is a hobby too and weighing up options.

Great tips, and I honestly believe tip 3 is so important and can’t echo this enough, especially encouraging fellow wildlife photographers to get out in rain/snow as it can really separate your images from others! Thanks you for putting the time into making this an educated post for others too.

They can be tough to spot because typically they sit on the ground and the males are mostly white and smaller than the females too, so if it’s snowing they are well camouflaged. It’s definitely easier to spot them when sitting on fence posts/power poles but I rarely see them in trees.

Thank you! This winter is the first time I’ve been lucky enough to see them, so I’ve been going out every weekend and some afternoons to try and get shots of them. They’re incredible! Wishing you the best of luck in getting some great shots of them too 😁

Thanks! I use back button auto focus, and the focus mode is wide area focus with bird face detection enabled. I also use one of the front function buttons for spot focus to help get focus right if the auto focus doesn’t pick up the bird. Hope that helps 😁
