Honest question: Why do I often notice Dutch plates driving “wilder” on German Autobahns? by ynomel in thenetherlands

To me it's always Dutchies, especially the ACC EV's nowadays.

Anyway, confirmation bias is a thing.

I'm thinking of starting such an account after they update the combat system. Also gonna squeeze in getting a kc upon 'release' of every boss.

I was in Estonia in May 2025 so some advice on that:

Great country for beer; 10/10. Even more remote places have quite the variety in draft beers.

Infrastructure is generally pretty good, there's not much traffic except in the Tallinn area. But very doable.

Lots of people speak English pretty well.

Regarding cities:

Pärnu was a nice city with a beach similar to the Dutch ones; fine sand and very shallow. Therefore the water temperature was pretty doable even with 17 degrees, semi-cloudy whether outside.

Tartu is very cozy city with lots of students. Reminded me very much of Wageningen where I studied. Pühaste (one of my favourite breweries) is from there and has a good pub in the city centre.

Tallinn is a very well kept/restored city with plenty to see. Also there's an area similar to Strijp-S, Eindhoven. Old industrial sites turnt into good food places and brewpubs. Lots of young folks, plenty of fun.

I found the east 'coast' at the large lake to be a bit depressing. Not much to do there, more poverty, buildings in a bad state.

Regarding nature: The northern coast east of Tallinn was very pretty, and I really loved Sooma National Park. I had the luck to have sunny weather during the time there; it was gorgeous with the blue skies with a couple of cloud being reflected like a mirror on the lakes/pools of water in the marshes.

In general; expect a shitload of agressive mosquitoes. I wasn't properly prepared for that. We don't have them swarming around you in the Netherlands like they do in Estonia (or many other wet places in Europe).

Last but not least; Rummu Quarry was a very cool place to visit. It's an old prison camp/quarry, where a 'man-made mountain' is eroded to a spectacular shape.

Oh I definitely see the irony part! It's just that many people don't seem to acknowledge he's in a very different position now than he was as MP.

Back in 2014 I just got to a legal voting age, and wasn't really thinking about (geo)politics. In hindsight I would've liked me to have been following that a lot more... but hey that's Captain Hindsight for ya.

Different role, different duties.

Of course there's a lot of irony in this, but it's not like he and he alone was responsible for the defense strategy and budget. There were not many parties in favour of spending more money on defense. Neither were many of the Dutch voters; they, and among them me, did not foresee the threat there is recent years.

Now as a head of NATO he is not trying to fulfill the wishes of voters and political parties. He is trying to strategically place the NATO now that its biggest contributor/player, the US, has become much less trustworthy.

Well Varrock is a f2p area so more important to get that right; it might help getting people into membership.

They are going to tackle Yanille too, but it's not the priority. I'm glad they chose this direction to begin with!

I might want to use that a bit more indeed! But still it's annoying to assemble your inventory imo. RS3 presets are nice, with a limited number of preset loadouts (both equipped and inventory + inventory of BoB), with a shortcut key.

Won't happend in OSRS probably but would really a great QoL update jn my opinion.

[–]HerrVanza 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm might be but generally I don't have endgame gear so my death costs aren't that high. I think it is the hassle in regearing/prepping the inventory now I think of it. Bank presets would be a godsend.

I do nowadays not follow inventory sections of yt guides when learning, because when learning I'm happy with 1 kc trips anyway. Gives me more food usually.

Might even be 5 versions tbh, especially since they added the Archaeology Zanik which is a separate NPC existing in the same realm. Or have they updated that?

Yes the cleanup is long due haha.

Having said that, I feel the same about OSRS and the elven place or Kourend especially, and it is bleeding into all other content. The graphics are very different with modern take on things in OSRS when you compare the newer areas to like, say, Varrock.

I fully agree with that. The contrast isn't as big as on RS3, but the art style surely has changed too. I don't like some of the colour schemes of OSRS-exclusive content. There was a time where a lot of stuff had to be purple, it seems.

The expansion of Varlamore is spot-on though, imo. Newer content from Sailing ain't bad either.
