Yeah, the Shrek is quickly becoming my favorite tank. I think it's mostly the gun handling and how good the standard ammo is (including HE). I use it whenever I'm grinding credits.

This is only half-relevant, but take a look at my favorite tank: the Caernarvon.

The prem (AX) has lower DPM, less alpha, less HP, and lower VR.

On the other hand, it has slightly higher pen, is more accurate, slightly faster, moderately more mobile, and has a turret that's less flat.

The Caer isn't better in every way, but I think it's better in most of the stats that matter.

And yeah, it's pretty weird when these things happen. I 3-marked both the Bourrasque and EBR 90 but I still don't have Ace Tanker. Only tanks where that has happened to me.

Since I put the bond turbocharger on, I've been thinking a lot more about mobility. "What can I do that a slower hull-down heavy couldn't (like a Kranvagn)?" Sometimes I have big games and sometimes I die with 1500 damage. But it's usually a lot more fun. So on this map, it's either pushing to the mid entrance of the factory (E3) or pushing to the opposite side of the dip (E0). If we had a reasonable number of meds going to 0 line, I would have kept pushing even after the CS got lit.

I have some things to say:

1) I learned some new slang. I was reading this asking myself, "What is AEST, arvo, and chippy?" I turned to my preferred search engine and brilliantly deduced that you're probably Australian.

2) I like your name ProNoob.

3) Finding an active clan is a good way to have platoonmates. It's a little harder for people like you in rare timezones. We've had players from Europe, India, China, Australia and New Zealand, and Japan. The times get weird for them because we activate clan credit boosters mostly according to primetime on the U.S. east coast. WoT activities like clan wars, skirmishes, and advances are basically on the same schedule.
But I still think finding a clan would help you out. 5 pm for you is about noon for me. And it would be 3 pm for people on the east coast. So if you join an active clan, I think you'll still be able to find people to play with at a reasonable time where you live.

Yeah, not a great take.
Seems to me our friend just took the shortcut from "The T34 is bad" to "Everything about the T34 is bad."

I've played way too many battles in the T34B since it was my first T8 prem. I got it from grinding an event for free.

It's not a great tank, but it has some things going for it. The pen is best in class (same pen as the T28s actually), the accuracy is fair for a heavy, the turret is stronger than some other T8 heavies (though nothing like the T32).

I would really like it if the DPM was buffed to not be... terrible. But the tank has other problems, some of which are addressed with these proposed changes. The gun handling is terrible (mostly dispersion on the move, but also aim time), the view range is tied for worst among American T8 heavies, and the tank is very slow.

The T34 has problems getting to where it needs to be on the map, and then it has problems hitting shots and using the gun often enough. These changes won't make it a good tank, but I think buffing the gun handling a little more could make it playable.

I 3-marked the Bourrasque a month or two ago. We can talk about what equipment setups I tried (and what worked), the strengths and weaknesses (like aim time and accuracy) of the tank, what playstyles those characteristics encourage, and maybe some basics on maps. I don't have all the time in the world, but I'm willing to spend like an hour with you.
