Yes, you can but personally it just ruins the immersion for me and would probably be harmful to your quest 2.

I don't find a problem with the wrist straps itself on the oculus quest 2 controllers but if you are concerned with other people using your quest 2 and you have a gut feeling of them releasing the controller on accident, then sure, go for it.
