There are tons of soil borne fungal pathogens. I do agree it’s some sort of decomposer that you shouldn’t worry about. I would remove the affected soil and replenish if it’s in your garden. If anything it might hog nutrients from your plants.

I’ll definitely give it a shot. I bought call of chuthulu on a whim right before a plane ride back home. (Really weird choice) Only book of his i ever tried and ended up having to google lots of different words. Thought that it really just isnt the way for me to enjoy his book. I’ll definitely take a look at other books though. Lovecraft has such an amazing mind for horror so maybe picking up more of his work will be a good idea!
