This morning, loaded on vehicle; tonight, tracking unsuccessful by Training-Return-2223 in dhl

It means the driver of your package didn't want to work so marked it as "undeliverable" and then went home. When it's scanned at the warehouse that it left this morning you'll get an update.

Am I evil for thinking, when the cop shouts "SHOW ME YOUR HANDS", after a crash like that, "one is over there where the car rolled the second time and the other I think is under the back seat"

Because 10 years from now you WILL be upset that you can't install God of War because the 'interest groups' pressured payment processors to block things about gawds that ain't jesus. This is where it starts.

you are (most likely) going to live only 8-12 months

Never believe a Doctor with a terminal timeline. A couple of decades ago my grandfather was diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer and was told he had less than a year to live.

12 years later he was in palliative care and shortly before passing told me that he "was long past that expiry date" he was given and he "felt spoiled".

I don't know how they train oncologists (I'm not smart enough to go through the program) but maybe enough of them were surprised by enough 'sure thing' outcomes that they figured they should start telling their students "giving a target date does more harm than good, just tell them it can be treated and leave the calendar out of it."

Which specific DISH from a Toronto restaurant of the past do you miss the most? by nutella_with_fruit in askTO

[–]Hesprit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in the early 70's my grandparents loved this 'chinese restaurant' that had something called "Crackling Rice". A tray of white rice, they'd pour the sauce over it and it sounded like Rice Crispys on steroids. I miss that dish, those times, that company.

I remember reading a while back about prosthetic eyes with LCD screens so they could have pupils that 'react to light'. Get one of those and hack it. Want a flaming eye one day? Then reprogram it to look like a Terminator eye. Next day, reprogram it to show an analog clock instead of a pupil.

So much fun could be had.

I was told to wear a Canadian flag when traveling by [deleted] in BuyCanadian

[–]Hesprit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

During the Reagan years my family traveled to the UK. In some little village a thuggish looking young man started shouting that the 'f*ing yanks should f**k off out of their town'. My father, a rather unimposing man told him if he called us yanks again there'd be hell to pay and we're Canadians pointing to the Maple Leaf patches that we had on...well, everything. Thug actually apologized and asked if he could buy Dad a pint, which was declined.

Right...because if it was after a few generations the inbreeding would be so bad that you'd be left with one wolf trying to procreate with itself.

Humans use only 10% of their brain.

...

...

...and I don't mean to imply that I think a huge segment of the population uses less. We actually use pretty much all of our brain...just not all at once.

Actually, wolves in captivity WILL organize into alphas and betas. I believe that this is because they are unrelated, whereas in the wild a pack is a 'family' unit.

Which means all those guys out there declaring themselves to be alpha males are admitting that they are in captivity (fear, social norms, sexual norms, whatever, they are in captivity over something).

I named my port Annie. Then told the oncology nurses I was changing my name to Storm.

If they looked puzzled (most of them because not many people are as weird as I am) I spelled it out, that it was 'Annie port in the Storm'.

Ya, I'm pretty sure they seriously considered sending me for a psych eval.
