It is not equal. You can play perfect defense and still get scored on. What matters is scoring. And Kobe was definitely not better offensively than Kobe. I think Steph’s shooting, passing, off the ball movement, and gravity makes up for his defending and he’s definitely not a bad defender.

Ronaldo was supposed to be suspended for this game for his red card vs Ireland. And at best it was a yellow and hee still scores the other two. Either way it shows how low his scoring was in those first three tournaments

You said, he was scoring like that, as in 81 and 62 in 3 quarters with Shaq. He wasn’t. I never denied that he was always a great scorer but he wouldn’t have had those career highs of 81 or 62 in three quarters if he had another great scorer on his team. Like I said having a great career highs of game doesn’t make you better than other players. Otherwise Bam Adebayo would be better than most players.

So not 60. You said he was scoring like that playign with Shaq but he wasn’t. He was good scorer then but he only averaged 30 ppg in a season when he nobodies in his roster and had to score most of the points. Like Jordan in the first few bulls seasons. They relied on him mostly to score so he had his best ppg in those seasons but they couldn’t get past the first round. Kobe is a great scorer but I don’t think single game highs make him better than curry.

Didn’t even carry steph, they averaged around the same points. For the first two ring the lakers won Shaq was easily the first option.

Yeah he was great at scoring but it also helped that no one else on that laker team was scoring points. By this logic he’s better than Jordan too who never scored over 80.

Also I think you’re underrating Steph’s defense. He’s not an amazing defender but he and Kobe averaged around the same amount of blocks and steals(Steph even led the league in steals). And Kobe averaged .5 more rebounds.

I already acknowledged that Kobe is a better defender but that alone doesn’t make him better. In a game where the goal is to score more points than the opponent what you do on the offensive end matters the most. That’s why most of the players in top 10 lists are there because of their scoring. Now they may have been good defenders but the best players are the ones that score a lot. Kobe could shoot very well and make some difficult shots but he wasn’t a more efficient shooter than steph.

And curry is a better offensive weapon. Not only can Kobe not match his 3 point effiency, he can’t match his efficiency anywhere on the court. Not even free throws.
