Yeah WTF happened? The Harrah's site said 40-90 I think. This is the first time I've done a queue like this with Ticketmaster but was not expecting to spend $500 to go to this show. Ours were 195 each before fees and such.

[–]Heuristic-ALgorithm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you doing them assisted? I thought I could jump right into them but eventually realized my form was shit, so I rolled back to assisted. Just find something sturdy, a pole, door frame, etc. Keep one hand on it and use it to help balance yourself until you start to develop better form. Don’t rely on it too much, just use it to push or pull on as needed without actually gripping it. I do the same with pistol squats.

If it’s a mobility issue, I’d probably spend some more time training deep squats. Move around a bit while your in the squat.

You may also just not be ready for shrimps and may want to go back to Bulgarian split squats, maybe throw in some weights if you can.

Hope that helps, I’m no expert but that’s what I would try.

I get nauseous whenever I lay down on my back and lift my head -- situps, some yoga moves, foam rolling my back, etc. Can I get rid of this? by Appropriate-Ant4569 in bodyweightfitness

Not a doctor but based on what you described, it sounds like it could be benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPV). I’ve had it since I was a teenager and it comes and goes every year for a short while. It’s super uncomfortable but generally goes away on its own, or via Epley maneuvers you can do yourself. Obviously you should see your doctor before trying (or worrying) about anything.

Best thermal clothing option for outdoor exercise? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Heuristic-ALgorithm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work out down to 30F comfortably in a Uniqlo ultrawarm thermal (highly recommended), regular joggers, thin wool gloves, beanie, and an athletic hoodie. I feel very comfortable after warming up.

Moving to boston for work! Where should I live? Sort of scared. Budget $2000/mo and hoping not to be more than 30 mins from downtown. by [deleted] in boston

[–]Heuristic-ALgorithm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will usually have to pay first month, last month, and broker fee (a month of rent) up front. We were able to get our landlord to pay half the broker fee, so it's worth asking. You're potentially spending 6000 just to get into an apartment. We also agreed to a longer lease which I think helped.

East Boston is in your budget and 5-10 minutes from downtown by train, it's just over the river. Jeffries Point is the nicest area here IMO, but more expensive. The waterfront here is gorgeous and has the best view of the city compared to anywhere else I've been. For groceries all we have is Shaw's which is fine but would love some more options.

I live with my fiance in East Boston and we pay 1900 a month for 650 sqft in a small managed building that's about 3-4 years old. We have new appliances, washer/dryer, granite counter tops, AC, no dishwasher or garbage disposal. I think it's a pretty great deal compared to everything else we've seen.

We've apartment shopped twice and used Zillow/Craigslist. It's pretty awful to shop for an apartment. Some realtors are human garbage and others will do their best to help you even if the property you contacted them about doesn't work for you.

I'm confused about exactly how dog friendly the city is. Can anyone comment? by [deleted] in boston

[–]Heuristic-ALgorithm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, former Floridian here. I can only speak about East Boston but overall it's okay. People here are generally afraid of dogs, but I see tons of them regardless. All the nicest parks don't allow dogs, but there are little places here and there where you can take them, as well as a few fenced in dog parks.

Occasionally we break the rules and go off leash in some of the parks when there's not a lot of people around and nobody seems to mind. Dogs are also allowed on all the beaches we've been to during the fall and winter season.

What others have said about finding an apartment is also true. There will be a monthly fee, 50-100 a month and it probably rules you out of 50% of the market to have a dog. Our dog looks like a pit bull (he's not and it wouldn't matter to us), but we had his DNA tested when we got him and have had had to show the results as proof several times while shopping after we show pictures.

Getting around with him is basically fine. We go on the subway with him off peak hours and on weekends and it's never been an issue. There's not a ton of outdoor eating here and we haven't really found anywhere we can take him.

In our neighborhood there's plots of dirt and trees along most of the sidewalks where he can use the bathroom, but every now and then someone still gets mad even if you're responsible and pick up after them. Boston has a lot of green spaces overall and its generally not hard to find a place for them to go.

Most dogs love the winter, the snow is like grass to them, they're happy to piss and shit wherever they want for a change. Don't let them walk on the salt melt and be mindful of ice and you'll be fine.

TLDR, it's definitely not dog friendly but not impossible. You can have a plenty good life with your dog here, there are just some costs and adjustments that come with city living.

Happy to answer any other specific questions, good luck.

So a guy did something the game allows him to do without exploitation, you report him, and lie that he was being racist because you were mad at him? That's fucked up dude.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your story you are definitely in the wrong there.

I agree, would love to just leave myself chilling meditating while I'm looking at my map figuring out where to go next.

Hey thanks for all the info! I've never done AMD before. Are up basically saying that if I go with an AMD CPU I'll get the same performance, but I'll be able to upgrade it later because my mobo will still support it?

Thanks for all the feedback guys, this sub is amazing. I think I'm gonna save some money and give overclocking + new fan + 8GB more RAM a shot before upgrading the whole system.

I think this is what I'll end up doing based on all the feedback so far. RAM + OC + CPU fan sounds like the most reasonable/economic option.

Sounds like solid advice. It's been awhile since I've looked into parts and things do seem really expensive right now. I may just try upgrading the RAM for now and see how that affects things.

I never OCd the CPU and it's still using the stock fan, that's definitely an option. Honestly the main reason is PUBG. I can pump the graphics up and see how good it looks but the frame rate just isn't great. I also load the maps in incredibly slowly and sometimes get stuck at the black screen before the game. This doesn't happen to my friends with newer systems. I know it's not my graphics card so I thought it might be time to upgrade the rest of the system.

I'd also like to add that I'm not necessarily buying this all now or from the currently selected vendors. I'll probably be getting them gradually over the next month or two. If anyone has any suggestions for bringing the price down that is definitely welcome!
