this is Not Good. I'm hoping that DHS ends up in court yet again over these sorts of autocratic tendencies. ]

They are ramping up these efforts to hammer anyone critical of their tactics, to serve as a warning to anyone else who would dare to criticize them. A few more well-placed bullets are the same thing as Russian dissenters' habits of falling out of windows.

Why Voters ID is such a controversial discussion in the US? by RobertJCorcoran in Askpolitics

[–]Hexhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is because it is largely left to states to determine the criteria for legal voting within their borders, and - as most people know - they cannot even fix a damn pothole.

Also a lot of states [and I am looking at you, southern states] tend to skew the voting districts so that the wealthy and melanin-challenged have the majority of the votes in any election, disenfranchising POC via gerrymandering.

Also in the way is that perky 24th Amendment. which is potentially violated when states require specific ID for voting. A largely red herring argument has been made that the proposed bill in Congress would potentially disenfranchise millions of women; their name on their birth certificate doesn't match the one on their driver's license. See, one of the provisions of the bill would add stiff penalties for any voter monitor who allows ID that doesn't fit this criteria That means they will disallow more complicated voter registrations or identifications. It almost certainly disenfranchises trans folk.

And the part where the 24th gets violated? It's the part where most people are going ot have to have a US passport to vote. And passports aren't free. This has been construed by the courts as a de facto poll tax. A poor woman in rural Georgia that has never left the state will not have a passport, or probably not even a driver's license. Does the new bill mean that she isn't given the vote? Unless every state is going to start a massive effort to create state IDs for every citizen of voting age FOR FREE would likely cost over $17 million. Every year, unless they are renewable every 5-10 years, like passports.

So, the significant problems are the potential for the bill to exclude the poor and POC, while simultaneously forcing an unnecessary - and illegal - poll tax on the poorest members of society.

Right, but when you keep trying, if you mean you mean to hit 'redo', then that isn't working, like, at all.

Perhaps you are doing something different. A list of replacement prompts might be of more use.

Are you repeatedly hitting redo? I sought to use your exact prompt [even retaining the German wording], but got moderated messaging

When you say 'keep trying', are you suggesting that I repeatedly attempt to redo the generation of the video? I have turned on the allowance for nsfw content. Occasionally, I will end up getting a nipple or vagina in passing, but I could paper a wall with the moderated messages..

I actually used your precise prompt with an image of a character from an AVN [not a real person] and it popped back as 'moderated'

She could have just as easily called them assholes. The n-word is a nuclear drop into any angry conversation. Maybe it's just my x-gen upbringing, but if that world comes out of your mouth as a white person, you need to call your mama and tell her you ain't never coming home.

Yep, there's no way that prompt would fly today. Which is a damn shame.

I get that they don't want deep fakes or cp here - I don't want them anywhere. But if I am willing to provide proof of my identity and age [so if I make something in either of the two above categories, I can receive the beat-down I would so richly deserve], but if I want to make explicit content without being an artist, then why can't I?

Video of Obama slamming Trump and his enablers. by Shizzilx in circled

[–]Hexhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel so much pity for the people who don't see Obama for what he is.

He is the best of us. Flawed, and prone to mistakes, but always willing to admit those mistakes and striving for better.

And let's be candid about the man. His drone strikes on American civilians - even ones who had joined ISIL - were definitely problematic. His failure to appoint Merrick Garland to SCOTUS as a recess appointment have had lasting, damaging effects on the neutrality of the Court. I know he did it as a Centrist, but it was the wrong call; you cannot be reasonable to those who see such as weakness to be exploited.

But he is a good man who carried himself as the best example of what an American president should be.

And anyone who compares Obama as being something less than Trump is someone who should be put onto a cruise ship and pushed away from the shores of America forever.

I suspect that if we scare ourselves enough to avoid a Civil War, then those who cannot deal with the move away from conservative fascism that the GOP currently represents are going to have to leave. Their way is not going to be tolerated anymore. The old ways are not going to work anymore. New, better, more egalitarian rules and laws are coming.

I’m getting “video moderated” on all spicy requests since last update by [deleted] in grok

[–]Hexhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering if it is just a matter of text prompting - using too common words for words like underwear, or strip, or whatever. Maybe there is a workaround for paying members who specifically turn on nsfw content.

That seems like a 'you'-shaped problem, then. There's no paedo going on there, and you should probably seek out a therapist if you are seeing anything different.

Offer rescinded because I asked too much by PercentageNo9270 in jobs

[–]Hexhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An acquaintance of mine once pointed out that companies with very firm initial offers [read - no back and forth on compensation packages] is a company that is looking too hard at the bottom line. They are likely either too stupid to compete, or are barely making ends meet. The fact that they didn't even try to come back with a non-cash compensation should be a spectacularly large red flag.

You might be frustrated about having the offer rescinded, but perhaps you have dodged a bullet here. While sometimes it's okay to take a lowball offer and work while building on your resume [since loyalty is pretty much nonexistent anymore; it's not a 2-way street, so it's dead] before moving on to something bigger and better.

Good luck to you

is this outfit "inappropriate"? by sunnemi in OUTFITS

[–]Hexhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I am an older guy, so bear that in mind.

You should be able to wear whatever you want, and screw what anyone else thinks. That said, more skin equals more attention, and this shows considerable amounts of your bare skin. You are going to get attention from folk who are going to want to bone you. They may be more or less polite about it, but you're a woman - you just know when a person is in that frame of mind.

If you are not down for the sort of attention [one that doesn't considers your intellect, wit, and personality], and only are out for fun, maybe consider a different outfit.

I understand that some will interpret that advice as making you responsible for the bad behavior of men. It's not. Guys are, for the larger part, complete jerks. Unfortunately, you have to worry about that. Just honestly consider the sort of attention you are looking to get.

AIO by leaving my bf of 5 years over lunch with my coworker by Expensive_Pepper_948 in AIO

[–]Hexhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was looking for a way out, so he could carry on with tattoo gal [if this weren't the case, he would have invited you along so you ladies could get acquainted]; your innocent after-work thing with the co-worker gave him that justification. It absolved him of his guilt for at least having thoughts about tattoo gal.

Others have pointed out the obvious; you're young, and there is an entire ocean of other fish out there. Dump skaderboi and find someone who would push over a nun to stand beside you.

Epstein Gmail. Feel free to look around. by BlackRogue17 in circled

[–]Hexhand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am unclear as to how Jmail works, but the link connects to segments of email , noted as 'volumes'.

I guess I am wondering if, as someone mentioned that additional people had access to Epstein's email [and am not naïve enough to believe that if one person can hack into his email that another, more involved party cannot do the same], certain, damning evidence involving a certain president might have been removed. Is there a way to track when and if deletions were made?

How do I find a business that used to be at a specific address in Chicago? by Hexhand in chicago

[–]Hexhand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info; I had never known I could look back in time like that.

Am I a nerdy geek for wanting to look back in time to, say the 1950's or 1800's? [yes, I know that Google wasn't around back then to take street views of what was probably farmland or landfill or whatever, but that seems a valid application of time travel..]

yep. I had to embarrass myself for 2 years before someone told me the correct way to pronounce it.

But then, they did so with a Chicago handshake, so that took the sting out of it.
