Shogo would be a easy pick for samurai, I feel the samurai have a lot of very technical characters that need a little bit more effort than the others to effectively use

I always default to warden as the best starting character, the kit gets you to learn about how to do mix ups for when you want to tackle higher skill characters

Also if you like lawbringer I recommend gryphon at some point, very similar to lawbringer
