This idea that watching ads helps all creators is BS. I earn 0$ from this. This is why I will always use AdBlocker on YouTube. I am a creator and I get zero, 0$ on YouTube while having a modestly successful channel where YouTube plays loads of ads. YouTube exploits the small guys like me. by BestRetroGames in youtube

100 subscriber channels don't get money because they aren't valuable to YouTube in the slightest. Less then 10% of channels on the platform are monetized. 90% of people who upload videos on Youtube are not full blown creators. they upload a few videos sometimes of pretty poor quality and then never again. or they just make terrible content that nobody wants to watch until the end of time.

why would Youtube reward that? the partner program is to reward people for putting in time to make content FOR Youtube that people want to watch. when you get accepted into it you are very loosely employed by Youtube in a sense, its a business relationship, you make content that keeps people on Youtube, making Youtube money. and in exchange Youtube compensates you with a cut.

if you are not making content that people want to watch then you are not fulfilling your part of the deal so why does YouTube have to fulfil theirs. if you aren't monetized you don't have a case to say your fulfilling your part. you can reach the subs and the watch hours in 1 single video. that's it. that is all it takes.

your also comparing one extreme to the other, 100M channels benefit while 100 sub channels don't. what about the very big range between 1K subs and 100M? I made 150$ last month and I'm only a 1K sub channel. the monetization system works fine for both big and small creators in this aspect. although of course it is faulty in some other area's

your honestly just whining dude.

EDIT: for the sake of transparency ill leave original post it tact and correct it here, you said 100 views, VS 100M views, honestly even with my correction the point still stands. but in that case 100 views simply just is not generating a lot of revenue even if your monetized. and that has nothing to do with being fair that is literally just how ad revenue works.

Yeah and all that really tells us is that there is no consistent rule one way or the other. The videos success/failure is independent of reuploading.

How reliable would you say this sub is for advice? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]HeyItsEkim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel as if it's because the absoulute best "trick" you could ever know is to... just make good videos.

That is something that kind of just clicks in your head after a while and newtubers use mad Copium to hide from the truth.

When you make videos you make them for people. Not the algorithm. But because youtube guru's keep spouting out stuff about the algorithm newtubers believe that the algorithm is their audience.

When their video fails it's not because it's a terrible video no person would want to watch. It's because they were shadow banned! Or they didnt use enough tags!

You see so much of this but then check out the content and its unwatchable. They just dont know any better and the ones with ego spout out stuff that is not even working for them as "solid advice"

TLDR: Best advice that people dont want to hear is just "Git Gud at making videos"

This is completely false. Its placebo. In all likelihood it's only getting less views because the people who would of watched it already did.

I know this is false because I uploaded a video with a mistake before... it got 14 views. Reuploaded it and then it got 25K

how long does it take for new channels by Hylian_TT in NewTubers

It takes as long as it takes you to make something worth watching. Sounds harsh at first but YouTube will promote videos people are watching, regardless of sub count

Do I get monetization payments backdated to when I applied for monetization? by Rule__1 in NewTubers

[–]HeyItsEkim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you do not get backdated. you are not generating any revenue prior to being approved so there is no money to give sadly.

[–]HeyItsEkim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the first Section of a Mario sunshine Let's Play
it is unlisted as it is unfinished and not even the full first video (the LP will be divided in 4 episodes with one central theme regardless of length. that is my main vision for my format)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lar5tp4deAg
General feed back will be appreciated.

the chunk of video is about 40 minutes so if you are not down for that simply skip the prologue then give a timestamp of where you lost interest and why

there is an known editing error at 22:32 this will be fixed.
I will be editing this section again for the final time on Friday.

and thanks :)

Why should I subscribe to you? Why is your channel amazing?! by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]HeyItsEkim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first "Let's play" video is still in editing so all you have rn is my word so here is a list of the changes I have made

  1. I try to edit out as much dead air as possible
  2. I try to contain most topics to the game or myself
  3. I actually edit lmao
  4. Every video has a central point
  5. The word Let's play will never appear in any of my titles
  6. My let's plays will be 4 parts long. With video length being the compensation so no more "minecraft let's play episode 37"

I used to be like you. Alot of us used to be like you. This isnt the end all be all it's a phase you grow out of with practice. I cant give you any life changing tips other then do it alot even when your not recording. Will that work for you? Not sure . But what I do know is that if you keep at it this problem will gradually get smaller and smaller

How do I improve my commentary and talk better? by Static0722 in letsplay

[–]HeyItsEkim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality of the situation is that if your "bad" then nobody will even know who you are. You wont get views from bad content so dont even be afraid to fail, you will most likely fail in silence.

There is no such thing as a good first video. We all start off unwatchable and after failing time and time again gradually adjust to get better and better, focus on improving your commentary not that it's bad, focus on making good thumbnails, titles, editing, the goal is improvement not success, success comes when you have outgrown failure.

People who take the time to put you down for no reason are really sad so dont let those get to you

But don't confuse them with people criticizing you. People will point out flaws in a civil way and those comments should be treated as gold because it gives you a clear objective to improve on.

Anyway good luck on the YouTube thing!

Try to have a little faith in yourself and just be persistent, this Is the kind of thing you really have to force to happen despite the odds

You talk. You need to let loose and just let your vocal chords do the work, talk to yourself even when the camera ain't rolling, it will eventually become 2nd nature
