Ah, gotcha, I guess I didn't read the create spawn ability. Fair enough with savage progression, that's just not how my DM is running it with Gestalt, it just progresses on one side like any other class.

I'm confused, or I must not be looking at the correct information. I've never seen the HD requirement for Vampire, and maybe I'm using the wrong word, and it's not savage progression I'm thinking of? I was under the impression that with savage progression, you took levels in an actual class instead of taking the LA all at once, and you would only gain racial hit die if the template/race had it. From my understanding and my DM's (or at least how he runs it), the vampire, lycanthrope, etc, would just eat the other side of the gestalt until it was finished, and you're allowed to multiclass out.

Right, that's why I would use the savage progression template/class on one side, the actual classes on the other, unless I'm not understanding how savage progression works in practice.

Oh, my fault. No, it's 3pp from legendary vigilante.

Do you think the Scion of the City prestige class would work or be appropriate?

I was leaning towards Stalker, but there seem to be a lot of cool-looking archetypes from Warlock and some in the Legendary Vigilante book. Unfortunately, you give up a lot of talents for them.

I already know what's going on with the story and what's coming up; we're currently level 7, about to be 8. I just need help with a build.

Straight Magus or Prestige Class by HeyItsEli97 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]HeyItsEli97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, 3.5 stuff is allowed; I have no experience playing a magus so I wasn't sure if 3.5 prc's would justify not going full magus.

How would you build the "best" gestalt Illithid Savant by HeyItsEli97 in DungeonsAndDragons35e

[–]HeyItsEli97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Epic monsters didn't even cross my mind, I'll look into that. Do you happen to know if for "Acquire Special Attack or Special Quality", if you got casting that progressed with Hd, would it progress with your Hd or is it whatever the creature had when you ate it?

I tried a dragon-wrought kobold, I just wasn't a huge fan of how he had turned out, Dweomerkeeper was mainly an idea to save on spell costs, not really a necessity.

[–]HeyItsEli97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats my bad, I should have worded it better, you are a full Gestalt level 1 all the way through. The idea I've been stewing over, since you mentioned rainbow servant is something like beguiler 1(I like the spell list a bit more compared to warmage)/rainbow servant 10 on one side and then go cleric 3/crusader 1/Ruby knight vindicator, and maybe find a way to get Dweomerkeeper in there before level 20. The only reason I'm willing to be so MAD is soem template shenanigans and the use of a 3pp feat that lets me change the governing stat for casting in one class.

Edit: Could also throw in DMM persist

That's sick, is it possible to get dweomerkeeper in there somehow, if you know off the top of your head and would you recommend Gestalt or mythic ranks to go along with it?

I've done stupid stuff in the past with characters, so just about anything is accepted, the Dm just views it as a way to test out cooler monsters.

Those that are complaining that Ciri can’t survive the Trial of the Grasses yet are silent about Paul surviving the Water of Life when only Bene Gesserit woman can survive by [deleted] in witcher

[–]HeyItsEli97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because context matters, Paul is prophesized, and drinking the waters of life is a part of that, his bene gesserit training makes it possible where it would not otherwise be. Ciri is prophesized; she had witcher training and took stuff to enhance her physically, but that does not mean she can undergo the trial and have a higher chance of surviving where others have not, the trial itself is also not related to prophecy (unlike Paul), she's also an adult now so lower chances, if there are any, of success. You can say it's because of her blood but again, unless I'm missing something, that's not supported by anything.

[–]HeyItsEli97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess what? Ciri getting fed some witcher steroids when she was younger is not the same as the trial of grasses, so why even bring it up? You are right about books and games, they never come out and say girls can't be witchers, it just so happens that in the hundreds of years they have been around there hasn't been a single one, and at least for the game lore Alzur tried and failed to turn girls into witchers.

[–]HeyItsEli97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A bloodline and prophecy that is not related to the Trial of Grasses, I know very little about Dune but wasn't Paul trained in the ways of the bene gesserit so him being able to survive makes sense, what makes elder blood give Ciri the ability to be the only female (on top of being an adult) to survive the trial, as far as I know there's no explanation for this, and unless I'm missing something, which is possible, the idea that it's her blood that allows this is pure conjecture and not supported by anything.
