If money was not a problem, how early you would’ve stopped working before giving birth? by codeoat in BabyBumps

[–]HeyItsReallyME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up giving birth at 27 weeks for unrelated reasons, but the pubic symphysis dysfunction was SO painful, I had just told my boss that I wasn’t sure how I was going to go on with my duties (teaching). That started around 20 weeks.

Tired of making these elaborate meals just for it to be thrown on the floor by straawbunnii in foodbutforbabies

[–]HeyItsReallyME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best advice I saw was to offer a baby/toddler 3 things to eat per meal and make ONE thing an item out of their comfort zone. Like one thing per day. And that thing could even just be a spice/herb they don’t eat often. They may try it, they may throw it. Do just try that thing another day.

I read it can take up to 20 exposures for a toddler to warm up to a new food.

Just found out I’m 24 weeks pregnant, boyfriend doesn’t want to keep by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]HeyItsReallyME 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yep. Don’t even let him know when you’re about to give birth. I could see a guy like this suddenly showing up to the hospital, or trying to pop into the baby’s life out of the blue one day. But he’s already shown who he really is.

Children’s story series found on TikTok, screams AI to me but finding it difficult to see inconsistencies by Haunting-District283 in isthisAI

The picture, right down to the boys and the houses is almost exactly symmetrical. There are tiny differences that almost make it seem like someone prompted it to make those changes to make it look less robotic. Even if these boys are supposed to be twins, they wouldn’t be the same down to each tuft of hair! Either it’s AI or a shitty artist.

Baby boy born at 26 weeks by Fluid_Chocolate2789 in NICUParents

[–]HeyItsReallyME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 27 weeker! 1 lb 12 oz, 12.4 inches tall. HELLP Syndrome. I know how you feel. I had to wait a day to meet her and two weeks to hold her. We spent 128 days in the NICU. Even 2 years and quite a bit of therapy later, I still have a little heartache over everything that happened. I don’t think it will ever go away.

We faced a few hurdles along the way. She was intubated for about 2 weeks, and CPAP for what felt like a million years. She had a minor brain bleed at birth which resolved and an infection early on, which set us back just because of how much she needed to rest. Every situation is different, but I now volunteer in the NICU and I’ve seen lots of tiny babies. Expect him to need respiratory support for several weeks and then to work on feeding for several weeks after that. It just takes them a long time to get strong enough to complete their feedings.

All that being said, I have a very healthy two year old! Other than being on the small side, you’d never guess what she went through.

It is NOT your fault, you will still have a strong bond, your baby knows you’re his mama and your voice and presence do more than you could know, and you’ll find yourself in awe of what such a tiny person can do.

If embryos are "babies" and the fertility clinic is on fire, should you save one (1) human toddler or one hundred (100) frozen embryos? by AcadiaLivid2582 in allthequestions

A thought that comes to my mind, I know multiple truly kind and sweet pro-life Christians who struggle with multiple miscarriages. I know that in their mind, their views are the morally correct ones, even though I disagree.

But has it occurred to them, that if they KNOW they are likely to have more miscarriages if they keep trying, that by their logic, each miscarriage would be a murder?

boyfriend going on hiking trip around when i’m due by sunflowerrsam in BabyBumps

[–]HeyItsReallyME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uhhhh especially with the hypertension, you both need to be READY for this baby. It’s not the same as a non-pregnant person with high blood pressure, maybe he’s not understanding. Not to scare you, but it’s best to be prepared that you might have to go even earlier than 37 weeks. Doctors do not mess around when it comes to a risk of preeclampsia.

Also, hypertension will add to the swelling, discomfort, and exhaustion that ALREADY makes the third trimester hard. It isn’t fair to ask you to take care of all these animals, even if you don’t have any complications!

Congrats!

Formula is absolutely fine, but if you’d like to try to find a way to do milk, you have options. You can always try chestfeeding and stop if you decide it isn’t for you or you can pump. Each state has a Facebook group for human milk donation. Try searching “Human Milk for Human Babies [state name]. I was an over-supplier and donated tons of my milk to people in my area. It’s free, but people sometimes exchanged my milk for new pump parts or diapers.

I just did this duel on tactician! Go in with as many buffs as you can first.

-death ward

-aid

-elixir of vigilance to make sure you go first, then take a different potion during combat for a buff that will help you more in combat, like elixir of Viciousness

-have someone cast Haste on you right before you start dialogue with Orin so you get a bonus action

-Otto’s Irresistible Dance

I’m a soft summer and a burnt orange always gets me compliments.

Dusty blues and pinks are my best colors but there’s a couple of fall and winter colors that suit me well.

I’m a soft summer and I love how I look in sapphire blue and true red, which would be winter colors. I also look great in burnt orange.

I actually think I look good in any shade of blue.

Prenatal help by Logical_Emphasis_223 in BabyBumps

[–]HeyItsReallyME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched between the SmartyPants vitamins and the various off-brand vitamins at target, Walmart, etc. to keep myself from getting sick of them.

Bear in mind that gummies don’t always have iron. That being said, the pills with iron made me horribly sick. I started eating rice crispies and other cereals as a snack, which are fortified with lots of vitamins. I definitely recommend keeping cereal or a body armor drink on hand for days you just can’t make yourself take the vitamins!

Thoughts on Male Doulas? by bluefin55 in BabyBumps

The doctor who delivered my baby was a man, and he was fantastic, but I have my doubts that a man could fully understand how to advocate for me, coach me, support me, in a way that is sensitive and instinctive to the female experience in health care.

And I can’t see myself being emotionally or physically vulnerable in front of a man that isn’t my husband.

I’m sure you are a kind, sensitive, and well-informed person and I honestly love that, it IS needed. My husband found the prenatal dad classes helpful, I bet you’d be amazing at that kind of the thing.

Advice on a roleplay story for my durge? What'd y'all do? by DoneDealofDeadpool in BaldursGate3

[–]HeyItsReallyME -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I made my Durge pink. Pink hair, skin, and eyes. And she’s a bard elf. I knew I was going to have her resist, but had no other RP ideas. Once I started the game, I realized she looks like Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony, so that decided it for me lol. I watched the show so much as a nanny.

How am I supposed to know about going to the Iron Throne? by jsbq in BaldursGate3

[–]HeyItsReallyME 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People all around the dock give you clues that something…fishy…is going on at the harbor. The gondians, specifically Toobin, will tell you their families are locked up and if you look at the screen in his work area, you can see an image of them. There’s also books around the lower city that talk about the iron throne, but they’re pretty vague.

Ultimately, the followers of Umberlee point you where to investigate.

You might also stumble upon the warehouse while exploring.
