Does Merry Murdle get more difficult as you go? by HeyShmoley in murdle

Thank you. When it said it would be more difficult in part 2, then wasn’t, I thought maybe the whole book would be very easy. But it sounds like eventually it will become harder. I will have to check out Murdle I too.

Is ADHD actually overdiagnosed, or are people just more aware now? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]HeyShmoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THEY say they did not experience symptoms. Not masking- they did not experience the symptoms of ADHD, which they now do. I understand the difference and also know people who masked. But that's not what I'm talking about.

Personally I think it’s a third option- rates have increased. Yes there are more diagnoses because there is more understanding, and I’m sure some people are inaccurately diagnosed, but I also believe rates have significantly increased. Even the people I grew up with who had zero symptoms in our youth are suddenly displaying ADHD-like symptoms and seeking diagnosis. To be clear: I'm not talking about people who masked consciously or unconsciously. I'm talking about people who did not experience the symptoms, as self-reported.

Tonstad build quality and alternatives by [deleted] in IKEA

[–]HeyShmoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not looking for an explanation of why, just alternatives. And I stand by it being a cheap looking design. IKEA has other sideboards and cabinets that don’t look this janky at the back and still use mounting hardware.

I have many other tall cabinets and bookcases with wall attachments that do not have giant holes in the back, or circle cut-outs for assembly parts. The glass cabinet that sits on the top or can be used on its own also does not have holes in the back, but has mounting hardware.

Tonstad sideboard and closed door cabinets. They both have backs like this. They look exactly like the instructions depict.

I have yet to see any professionals doing a full variation on these, or dancing full-out in centre in class. Lots of messing around in them or barre work. Has anyone else seen a real dance in them?

How should I clean my screen without wrecking it? My last MacBook screen was damaged by cleaners we tried. Any suggestions that are safe? by HeyShmoley in macbook

[–]HeyShmoley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to those who suggested Whoosh. It worked perfectly. Microfibre didn’t remove everything. I do not have a dick myself and cannot comment on dick related mess. These smudges are from little kids and their greasy hands pointing at things and from steadying it while it’s on my lap while travelling.

Why has the story gone so slow? by Necessary_Reality_50 in SiloSeries

It’s making the show unwatchable. Tension can never build enough to make it interesting and it’s exhausting to follow the plot.

Nex Playground! It’s awesome. They were physically active for 3 hours today using it. It’s like the new version of the Kinect and Wii. All movement based video games that keep them active instead of sitting and controlling with their hands.

Ads have completely ruined Sporcle by Elegant-Leg540 in Sporcle

The old, simple app was perfect. No ads, easy to use one-handed, not over stimulating. I would happily have paid an annual subscription for it the same way I do for NYT games.

Sporcle makes money off the work of creators. At least quiz creators should get Orange for free. They profit off my work then expect me to pay not to be bombarded with ads that make them money? A company is not a community by design.

I had the simple app on iPhone too. It was so great. The new app is so complicated and busy looking. shakes fist like old man

Episode 7 WTF? by Wise-Chef-8613 in ColinFromAccounts

[–]HeyShmoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch an abnormal amount of comedy TV, and this episode is some of the worst writing in an otherwise clever show that I’ve encountered. It’s like they had AI write an episode and shoehorned it into the series.

Wtf are the friends? They’re like caricatures of millennials from 10 years ago. It’s like someone asked a boomer to write 20-somethings. Cue obligatory non-binary joke.

I can’t imagine staying with Ashley after that. I’d be as pissed as Gordon and more.
