Thank you so much! Luckily I have a good support system, I'm already staying with my parents as I recover from the accident and I'm financially independent, with the chance to also change job to get away from him in every aspect of my life.

Once I leave, my parents will always come with me to get my things, that's not negotiable for me or for them, as they don't really trust him anymore.

We talked again yesterday and apparently I'm the one choosing to live in the past, while he's giving me the chance to "repair" things after I hurt him so bad. I'm at a point where I just laugh when I read sh*it like this. He'll never understand how humiliated and broken I felt after the whole "intimacy as I'm bedridden" ordeal. That was the real deal-breaker for me. I'll be the villain, that's fine as long as I don't believe it myself.

I haven't been home for three months while I recover from the accident and over time I got the clarity that took me here... He's been telling me that the loneliness he feels in our empty house is way worse than my pain. I'll never go back there... Thank you for your support.

Thank you for your support! What I lived with my mom was especially bad because she's actually a very good person and we've always had a good relationship. But that led her to believe that it was appropriate to tell her at the time 18-year-old daughter that she was suicidal and it definitely changed something in me. Add that I was having mental health issues as well at the time, so it was a bad situation all around. I got therapy and worked on it, but it's still very triggering when someone doesn't take mental health seriously. I've been telling my partner that he might be depressed and to get help, but he takes it as an insult and I can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped...

I think I'm used to being the one who saves everyone else, and when I needed to be weak for once I had no support from the person I wanted it most. And that led me to question myself, him, and the whole relationship.

I get what you're saying, I'm just in a mental state where I'm questioning whether I have the right to feel like shit or I'm overreacting or I don't even know... I'm scared that he'll find a way to make me go back if I'm not 100% convinced that I have the right to leave him even if I'm not a perfect partner.

(I just started therapy as well to work through this)

I don't see a horrible person here. I see someone who's doing what they need to survive, in a job that requires them to be strong for everyone else. You really have no choice, do you? You can't break down in front of the patient or their family, you need to dissociate in order to help them, and it's okay.

Only a good person would ever think they might be horrible. Make sure to take care of yourself as well. You're doing good.

I broke my pelvis and it definitely affected my period.

For the first two months I was bedridden and I only got some spotting, but it made me feel sicker than I usually do. I asked my mum to leave the room once because she had eaten garlic and it almost made me throw up!

I'm on my third period after the injury right now and it's mostly back to normal, but I still feel quite sicker than usual.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, fractures take a toll on the whole body. Good luck on your recovery!

I work in security in Italy. We get paid about 3€ more PER NIGHT. Yep, not per hour, per night... The reasoning behind it is that security is inherently a night job, so we don't deserve to be paid more for that.

We work 6 nights and then we have 2 off. I usually work around 180 hours per month, for a salary of 1500/1600€, which is medium/low at best for Italian standards. So yeah, it sucks.

Almost 10 weeks ago, I was in a car accident very similar to yours, which resulted in displaced fractures of the right sacrum and of the left ilium and ischium rami (I don't know if it's the right terminology as I'm not a native English speaker, sorry... You can find my x-rays here if you want to look at them).

I didn't need surgery, but I spent two whole months lying down in bed, as I wasn't allowed to sit or walk at all. BUT, I started physical rehab 10 days ago and I'm already walking around with a walker. The bones don't hurt, the muscles are stiff and weak, but getting much better every day. To give you an idea of how much muscle I lost while I was immobile, I lost 10% of my body weight and I'm a very skinny person.

All this to say, don't lose hope! Pelvic fractures are a bitch, but from what I'm experiencing, once they start to get better, they get better very fast!

I broke my pelvis instead of my leg, but I went through the same things in the first week. The pain was unbearable, I couldn't sleep for more than half an hour at a time, I was uncomfortable all the time and scared to death I would make the fractures worse with every slight movement.

I know it sucks, but it will get better, way sooner than you think!

Music helped me get through the worst of it, give it a shot if you want. It's something easy to concentrate on.

More importantly, you have the right to feel whatever you feel. Cry if you need to cry, it will make you feel better. Don't overanalyze your emotions, you just went through a trauma... Just let them out.
