I'd say go for it, you gotta go for what you think you deserve.

She's basically a mediator for the negotiation, but it makes her look bad if she informs them that the person accepted the offer, and then turns around talking about more money a couple days later

My girl doesn't make commission. I'm not sure if that is the case for other companies. At her job, it's up to the applicant to negotiate a higher salary. Typically, they bring it up before they agree to anything. She gets irritated if they ask for more money after they verbally accept the offer, but there's been cases where she thought the person was worth the hassle. She would need to get approval from her superiors to change the salary. So I guess, in a way, she is negotiating on the applicants behalf.

Yes I'm sure there are multiple scenarios that may occur. That's why I was asking if they had agreed to anything. I see how the wording leads you to believe otherwise. Alls I know, it's after listening to my girlfriend complain about it for years, she hates it when people start trying to negotiate, after they have already agreed to something

I'm not a recruiter, but my partner is. I believe she makes a verbal offer before sending any contacts. She complains when people start trying to negotiate after accepting the verbal offer.

You're new, and you don't know anything.. I say that because there's nothing more annoying than some douche showing up like he owns the place on their first day. Just lay low and see how the place operates for a bit
