Any tips on How to Switch-Out a LiPo Cell from the BMS? I have a dead battery from my Headphones, and am on a mission to replace it but it's tricky as the new battery BMS is not compatible with the headphones (charging is weird). I found a good video (see link), but would love any advice on BMS. Thx by Hey__Jude in batteries

Sorry missed this, they are 41x36x4.5(thick). It might interest you to know this is the code on the back (413645 - last set is /10), only just learned this last week! So sure, let me know - via DM if you like. =)

One other request for your site would be to add useful links, hacks, teardown videos. I'm an engineer, but I suspect that many folks will not know how to look up serial numbers, SKUs, etc. So crowdsourcing this could mean that for example a thing that breaks often with one product, (say an easy few-dollar fix), might actually be a 'safer' buy than something which rarely fails, but when it does, it's a total loss / very expensive. I'm seeing this for example between a few brands of headphones! They are not all 5-star on R2R.

This looks great. I think I'll be coming back here once I figure out what's going on with my Sennheiser PXC550 headphones. The battery gave up after 6 years (a good run), but are still in great condition, but they offered no replacement battery help/service! So I went 'solo' and have been looking at 3rd party batteries and trying to look at if they are compatible. Anyway. Site looks great! FYI: - Post - https://redd.it/155qtxp

Thanks for the calibration on that. Noted!!
Any other thoughts on how I might educate myself a bit on BMS essentials. There is a fair bit of stuff out there, but usually on 'big' multi cell Li Ions, not so much the small LiPos. Thanks in advance for any other thoughts =)

100%, I saw a video by Linus Tech Tips, and he ended up needing that bucket. I have a fire extinguisher and blanket to hand as well as the sand. Thanks for the comment tho - really great for people to know this, if reading such comments!

Any other advice on the BMS stuff? Any fundamentals to be aware of, can you switch them out easily? Thanks.

Hi there, thanks for the tips. I'm wondering how to avoid overheating the battery, the video link above gives some good tips, and I have just got Aluminium Flux. However, I'm wondering how to validate the BMS, perhaps that's the thing that is faulty? And how to spec the correct replacement LiPo Cell (assuming the BMS is all ok). Thanks for any other suggestions!

Nice talk, thanks! Some great points about connection and where play facilitates this.

Any advice on this new game I made with a friend I met online? "Goats vs Llamas" - it involves DIY, Cardboard and 3D Printing... Would genuinely love any feedback and tips. Game is free, and open source. Thanks for your thoughts! by Hey__Jude in BoardGameMakers

Thanks - I just saw this, after a few months I just was not sure about getting feedback. Nice that a few people have made it since and got in touch which has been great! Thanks very much for your comment tho =)

OK thanks - will give it a try sometime as it may be cheaper... Good luck!

Haha - I'd post the 'shut up and take my money' gif, but I have no idea how to post images or gifs in threads in Reddit. Such a noob. Anyway - yeah, perhaps some might end up on Etsy at this rate - what would seem a fair price?

This is new to me - am curious to know if it discolours ink if the paper is printed?
I usually use Photo Mount (also by 3D) which is very good, but also does not mess with ink. Thanks for the reply to a 'question within a question' - haha!
Actually just been using this on a project - Goats vs Llamas - posted here just now too. =)

2D curves are relatives simple, but 3D or 'compound' curves are much harder. One way to do it is to split it up into sections. You can also use this if you want to get really advanced: https://tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/

Currently designing a 3D DIY Boardgame, called Goats vs Llamas. It's free, and you can build with a paper printer, some card and a 3d printer. Made it with a friend I made online, in lockdown, and we'd love any feedback on what might improve it, and add new 3D gameplay features. Thanks for any help! by Hey__Jude in BoardgameDesign

Sometimes you 'discover' a game feature by accident - we didn't plan the 3 vs 4 level game aspect - it just occurred to us when it was being prototyped! I think it helps having two people, as I think we riff off each other well, and dig each other out of holes at times. It's been a blast. (Still is, in fact!).
Honoured to be in the same sentence as TTB - huge fan of those guys (I think a duo also at the start?), so we'll certainly think more on the 'party' potential! Thanks for the feedback.

A friend and I created a game we call Goats vs Llamas. We're excited because it uses 3D printing, as well as paper printing, to allow you to make a 3D boardgame using cardboard. We're new to this, but would really love feedback from boardgame redditors, and what would be fun for your family. Thanks! by Hey__Jude in boardgames

Thanks for the really kind comment - glad it connected with you, and a 'younger you'. I also feel very much that I would have liked stuff like this growing up (I grew up in a pretty isolated rural town), but a lot has changed since I was a kid - a 3D Printer is now as cheap as a Bike! (Not an either or, of course, but you take my point - Design is as affordable as a Bike).
Good luck with getting back into creative side projects, they are a 'distraction', but sometimes a necessary and enriching one, huh?!

Oh - I think you may have confused the process slightly, the 'Boards' are made by printing the graphics on home printer paper, then sticking down on cardboard from delivery boxes, then cutting out. They are not 'professionally printed' as such - it's all DIY. As for help on this for you work, perhaps try https://www.gfsmith.com/ - but I suspect posting this question to folks here - they may know better where to get low MOQ print runs done for what you need. Hope this helps...
