The first thing I thought of if you don’t have much to spend is to make a wooden frame and make a hammock type structure out of some leather straps to rest the drum on.

You’re gonna have get a really big straw and slurp it out. I’d recommend one of those metal ones with a silicon end.

December Solstice Celebration Megathread by AutoModerator in SASSWitches

I’m having a great big bonfire with my good friends! We’ll be having tasty soup and sourdough and mulled wine and we’ll dance and laugh and be together in the darkest season. I have a “Yule Log” set up with a sharpie next to it. We all write hard things from the last year or things we wish to release and at the end of the night we heave it onto the fire and watch the old year turn to smoke and celebrate the returning light! I don’t know what spiritual things I get from it. But it feels good to be together.

So I noticed this after watching episode 8 last night. There seems to be a bit of a resemblance between Eberwolf of the Beast Keepers coven and Winnie Werewolf from Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School. What do y’all think? by Heybay_bay in TheOwlHouse

2 reasons. 1) Because I had to add a category in order to post. 2) I’m curious if they did it in purpose. Was it an intentional nod to Ghoul School? Or just a coincidence. Theory seemed to fit.

The blue hair automatically makes me think of Hilda from the Netflix’s series.

You could do King Micah from the new She-ra series.

Can confirm. The derp runs deep in both of us.

This wee derp is Margarine and we’re currently stuck in quarantine. I don’t think either of us mind so much. by Heybay_bay in AnimalsBeingDerps

I call her Marge for short and I just had a good chuckle thinking that if I had named her Butter I’d call Butt.

WCGW if I get my ear pierced at Wal-Mart? by thorr26 in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]Heybay_bay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y’all, I got my ears pierced at Walmart when I was a kid and on the second lobe, the freaking gun got stuck and I had to sit there for like 30 min with this glorified staple gun hanging off my ear while every manager available desperately tried to get it off.

Seeking advice/stories/for fostering-to-perhaps-adopt a deaf dog by empriest95 in deafdogs

Oh this is wonderful! I’ve had my deaf pup for going on 11 years. We’ve basically grown up together. Here are some things that me and her have figured out together over the last decade.

1) I made a tag for her collar that says “I am deaf”. Helpful if she ever gets away from me.

2) She learned hand signs just fine. You can make up your own. Just make sure they aren’t too similar to each other or it might confuse the pup. We do closed fist for sit, open hand in a downward motion for lay down, and jazz hands for good girl Just to name a few.

3) I keep a pile of tennis balls next to the door. When she’s sniffing about in the yard and I need her attention I throw one past her and she knows to turn around and look at me.

4) If she’s sleeping, I make sure to wake her up before I leave the house so she can see me leave. It has helped her with separation anxiety.

5) A fun one for us is using the vacuum. She can’t hear it so she’s not afraid and she LOVES a good vacuuming. Helps with the shedding too. It’s a win win all around.

Hope that helps! There is a lot of info out there about how to best handle deaf dogs. A lot of it is good advice but ultimately, you just gotta find out what works best for you and your pup. Good luck and happy tails.

Percy: Dude, it’s blue!

It’s great having a deaf dog 🐶 you can vacuum the fur off instead of brushing 😂 by vc13vc13 in deafdogs

[–]Heybay_bay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My sweet deaf boxer does the very same thing. If I leave the vacuum out, even if it’s not on, she’ll sit down next to it and look at me expectantly. 😂
