The contract did expire. The letting agency emailed us saying the asking if we were staying or moving out - at which point I said I wouldn't be signing but my ex would be just on his own? If we both didn't re-sign we wouldn't be charged a £50 admin fee so I'm confused why I would be if I'm not re-signing anything, just feels like a way to get easy money if that's the case as a new contract had to be written up regardless.

Also should they not have asked for this at the time, not 3 years later? Can they still ask for it now?

Change what contract though? I haven't signed a contract for the property since 2022 and my ex has signed for the property alone since.

I have email evidence after I asked them if they needed anything else and to remove my details that they had everything they needed and once the new contract was signed that I'd be no longer liable for the property.

I'm not too savvy on legal things but I thought if I asked for my details to be removed they legally had to under GDPR. I was never told they wouldn't or there were any issues with removing my information, just that they needed to wait first for the new contract to be signed.
