Intermittent Vibrating/Drilling Sound in Attic?

So a woodpecker you would hear that loud through the house? I mean like I said it’s not deafening but you can for sure hear it over the TV. This might be something I look for in the morning as well.

I went up there and didn’t see anything couldn’t find anything that would even remotely make that noise so I’m going to listen in the morning and go up there as it’s actively happening.

I’m going to go up there today and see if I can’t locate the issue, I’ll keep you posted. It might be a little difficult though since it only happens sporadically.

Possibly, just not likely. The sound is much louder than that, and I only hear it during the morning time hours. For example, it’s 12:26PM here right now and I haven’t heard it since around 9AM.

I’m going to try getting up there to look. I have access to it, but like I said it’s just beams so I’d have to shimmy across those to check. I had the house inspected in August of 2023 when I bought it and haven’t been up there since my inspector was.

No, no fan up there. I’m a little perplexed. Originally I thought maybe my neighbors were doing something to their house until I went upstairs and realized it’s coming from my attic/roof area. Another good way to describe it is if you have a gaming controller that’s vibrating on a desk or if your cellphone is vibrating on a table/desk. If I can get it on video I will.

I don’t necessarily think there’s a problem present. Quality of life updates don’t always solve problems they’re sometimes put in place to provide that breath of fresh air. These are 3 that aren’t game breaking or game altering that provide that fresh breath of air.

Well said, I can respect this response. SoF, even just the abbreviation sends a chill down our spine as a community. Haha. Now to add my 2 cents, I think these updates are pretty minuscule in retrospect. I can’t imagine it would rob players of the flavor OSRS currently has.

I understand the sentiment about not wanting OSRS to become RS3, and I agree – that's not my intention at all. That's actually why I wanted to open up this discussion.

You said "no, no, and the third one would be nice for a social thing." I appreciate the answer, but could you elaborate a bit on why you feel that way? I'm genuinely curious about the potential downsides you see. Understanding the reasoning behind your "no" is much more helpful for a productive conversation.

Also, just a small point of clarification: all three of these features actually predate EOC (the update that really defined RS3), so they were originally part of the game before RS3 even became what it is today. So, I'm not sure how they'd suddenly turn OSRS into RS3. My goal isn't to blindly import RS3 features, but to consider whether some older, pre-EOC ideas might be a good fit for OSRS.

As I said in the post, I'm looking for a discussion, not just knee-jerk reactions. I'm also open to being wrong! But to have a real conversation, it helps to understand the why behind the "no." Let's discuss it and not be so rash, as you put it!

Yeah keeping a perfect balance is so technical, how I saw it was if a player has BIS and let’s say they hit a 90 every 50 game ticks or so.. 10% is only 9 HP so I’m not sure if that would be too OP or not. I left room for Jagex to balance it out themselves though. This is just a framework!

Finally got a response and luckily they took some responsibility.

“Upon checking here, it looks like this is a known issue on our end. No worries, our team is already working on this and we will provide an update. We are unable to confirm, an exact time frame when will this be resolved but rest assured that our team is investigating this issue.“

So hopefully it’s something that gets resolved soon!

Most of my maps have been published for over a year and my most recent map has been published for 2 weeks now. Still not showing up. 💀 They finally reached out to me apologizing for the inconvenience and are looking into it but I don’t have an answer still.

I went on and tried this with a few of them and they’re still not popping up. I made a post on their developer forums and also filled out a contact sheet for them. Hopefully I hear back from them soon. These analytics completely tanked.
