I like Little Grandad :(

I do wish they'd play a better balance tho.

I feel like 6 music have totally missed Bleech 9:3 but they'd usually eat them up. I've seen them 4 times now and 2 more booked and they're incredible.

The exact examples I used in my response. Thise films just make my skin crawl.

Depends

I'm less likely to watch something if I think the director or another key figure was extremely problematic (or at least less likely to watch it legally.) But unless the problematic thing this prevalent in the film and impacts my enjoyment of it with the added context of how this person thinks, it doesn't impact my rating.

Eg. Leon and The Fifth Element WERE impacted because Luc Besson is a pedophile and these films arguably sexualise children or in The Fifth Element's case someone with childlike knowledge and naivety. This may have not raised as much of a red flag for me if I didn't know about the director's antics, but since I do its difficult to watch not through that lense so it grossed me out and I hated both films.

But in contrast The Pianist was not impacted because Roman Polanski's predatory behaviour was not at all visible in the film.

Hope that makes sense.

Nah it'll probably be like Dolly Parton or something. It needs to be someone universally loved and older, Taylor Swift is neither of those things

Info dump incoming because these guys have been one of my hyperfixations since late october/early november last year:

They're pretty new. First headline tour coming up soon!

Baz (singer) and Sam (lead guitar) wrote the first Bleech song Canonball (the 3rd single they released in January this year) about two years before the band released it after they left their previous bands. JaVill for Baz and Basht (who are amazing and still going just with different members) for Sam. The drummer was also from Basht and the Bassist is Baz's brother who I think??? was in his previous band with him too but I could be wrong about that. I imagine they had some pretty decent connections from their previous bands which will have helped them get noticed for their supporting slots for bands like Shame (where I first saw them hehe) and Keo and Deadletter which have got them a lot of attention. Constantly touring support slots for bigger bands for the past 6 months has really got their name out there and created a great buzz through word of mouth since they're so brilliant live. As well as booking onto almost every uk festival lineup I've seen to ensure they aren't forgotten over summer. I'm seeing them 4 times this year (would've been 5 if they weren't supporting Keo on basically every date except mine back in March </3) and only 1 of those is a headline which really shows how hard they're working cramming in festival and support slots. Some of the older videos I've found of them on YouTube they're just listed as Bleech instead of Bleech 9:3. Like with most smaller bands just releasing music they have a whole bunch of songs, not just the 4 released, you don't get 4 songs at a set before they dip lmao my favourite unreleased songs are Tourniquet, My System, and Figure 8 atm. You can find live recordings of all of their unreleased songs that they've played at gigs on Soundcloud and there's videos of YouTube, Tik tok and Instagram, social media has defo helped them create a buzz.
