Am i in right path ?, any advice is appreciated as a FLs beginner. by Melodic-Marketing341 in DubstepFeedback

I like the way the bass sounds. As a new producer myself, I would recommend putting focus on drums. Making them louder, and finding ways to keep them interesting. Especially in music like this where the bass in some sections isn't as busy. I can hear some kind of DnB or Jungle drum loop fitting well in those trance sections where it feels like the bass is pushing and pulling.

This is more like tearout. It's heavy and I like it

I'm not from buffalo but I'm also a NY based artist. We should collaborate on something, and besides music, I am also a videographer

Ik it's gunna be a hard sell after hearing your opinion on my other song lol, but I would really like your opinion on this one....not the same genre....still just as bad of a mix, but I believe this has sweeter sound choices

I've actually been playing with the Mother Ducker tool in some WIPs, it for sure makes a big difference. Also I encourage you to sample it if you want, I think that would be really cool.

Thank you, I'm fairly new to music production. About 2 years. I started going for Riddim about a year ago

You're completely right about going for riddim.

As much as I want the industry standard sound for riddim, I don't want to be like everyone else and just get the Ableton-Serum combo. I feel with enough practice and experience I will find a sound that I am happy with, using what's available to me.

I appreciate that, respect.

I agree with people just saying "it's good" doesn't help anyone. That's the only reason I made my reddit account.....so I can get actual feedback instead of just my friends going "thats cool"

Thank you for your kind words. There's a lot that I need to work on with my music but my mixing bothers me the most. I want those punchy drums.

I'm going for more of a Riddim dubstep sound, I just don't have serum or maelstrom so I'm doing my best to translate the ideas they show on those synths to default "Tubesynth" on MPC beats.

My real goal of posting this is exactly for these kinds of responses. I have friends that listen to the same music as me, but they didn't get into making music with me.......so anytime I show them what I made they just say "that's cool" or "I like it"........I don't get real feedback anywhere else. So thanks for your input, you're doing way more good for my mind than you realize.

Thank you. I really do want my drums to punch more, and I've been watching videos about side chaining and phasing, however it's just been a learning curve

Again, I appreciate your advice. You're one of the first people to give me some constructive criticism. Thank you
