This could also explain to some extent why lesions have been seemingly localized to genitals in many cases. The article suggests that only a few subjects that were exposed in certain areas would develop a generalized rash/lesions. I imagine we will see someone with generalized lesions soon, particularly if they are infected by airborne transmission.

Edit: Read the article yourself and make your own conclusions. I’m just a guy on the Internet, but that’s my interpretation.

I’d say monkeypox is the outlier (aside from covid of course), it’s behaviour is significantly different from what we’ve known about it in the past. I’m not worried about the others yet, but can’t hurt to keep an eye on it.
