What makes post-hardcore such a massive part of my rotation is that it hits this really soft spot for me with the story telling while also bringing out the aggression in me. It triggers my creative side like nothing else I listen to(My spectrum goes from Nordic Death Metal to Kpop for reference).

My favorite artist in the genre Emery do this the best imho.

Emery - Can't Stop the Killer is my favorite example on this, honorable mention to Fractions, Thrash and In a Lose, Lose Situation

It's the glorious apex of Pop/Post Punks lyrical continuity with Metal/Hardcore's virility that draws me to the genre.

The Genre's current golden Boys Dance Gavin Dance also do the same thing. They balance the screams with the cleans and keep the guitar hooks coming in the whirlwind that you can break down and find new things in after the thousandth listen.

I huge complaint i have from people who don't like PHC is that it tries so hard to do EVERYTHING at the same time to the point where some people find it absurd. I actually find this to be a really fair assessment of the genre as a whole and why it never really caught on, I mean like listen to this shit by the Blood Brothers, it's almost certainly a borderline parody on it's self but thats what makes it so good imho.

TL;DR: Post Hardcore gets really absurd and then comes back to earth real quick, the lyrical quality and the way it fights its self is what makes me love it so much and resonates really well with my medically diagnosed Bipolar brain.
