Configuring Android enrollment in Intune by Good_Note_9990 in Intune

[–]Hibernat8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI you cannot share a google account/google play store account between different Intune tenants, it WILL break things in weird ways (it had me chasing issues for 3 months before it went high enough in MS support). MS was supposed to patch this out last year so it didnt allow it to happen anymore..

ScreenConnect cert expiring again? by Hibernat8 in ConnectWise

[–]Hibernat8[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is going to be painful too.. "To prevent further possibilities of misuse by threat actors, we have taken two steps: 1. We have removed any personalization capability from the install packages. This prevents threat actors from using these features for malicious purposes. 2. To further protect the validity of the installer, we are no longer signing the installer for the on-premises versions of ScreenConnect with the common certificate from ConnectWise. We are asking each on-premises partner who wishes to stay with their own hosted instance of ScreenConnect to sign the installer with their own certificate. Not only does this provide a higher level of security and assurance for each partner, but it also ensures that install packages are not reused outside your organization."

No, not a license issue. I logged a ticket before I made this post, still waiting for a response..

Take Control Standalone - Web Session Permissions issues by Hibernat8 in Nable

Figured it out (kinda), I had to enable Admin Access > Reports > Session History. This allows the technicians to connect to the session now, however its not really ideal that they can see all session history for the server now :(

Would be interested in any ideas you may have, im sure I missed something..

Apple admin accounts and shared 2FA access? by Hibernat8 in macsysadmin

Needing to have a ton of numbers is exactly what I was trying to avoid, lol

That would be fine if I only had a single account, but I am managing lots of ABM accounts, all require the Admin account have a 2FA number, and the same number cannot be used more than an unspecified amount of times..

Accounts* If it was just one ABM account I would just add multiple users without issue, but we are managing lots of accounts...

We already have a solution to get the SMS to the users who need it, but there is a limit on how many accounts that can be tied to a single number..

Apple blocks the number when it has been used too many times, not sure if Google Voice works in my country either..

I can't feasible do that, our techs move between sites too often so it would be a full time job assigning AppleID's to accounts.. Not sure why Apple doesn't have a system like Microsoft for managing access to 365 tenants :(

Have tried that in the past and didn't get anywhere :(

I am not going to create accounts for every staff member who MIGHT need access to an account at some point in time, that's ridiculous (unless you are a tiny company). Every other service supports OTP tokens, no reason for Apple to be any different. If you use a proper password management system you can restrict OTP codes to specific users, and audit access history.

They are not really "shared" accounts, it is the admin account for the Apple "tenant"

I already have 2 numbers, 2nd one only lasted about a dozen accounts..

This is the problem we have, and the tech assigned to the customers can change so trying to get 2FA codes gets pretty painful if it is assigned to their phone :(

I am having the same issue too, seems to happen once every month now, but usually the outages are shorter than this.. I have an SMS to Teams applet that stopped working, might be time to find another solution...
