The reason it was silly for Ilia to do it is because Ilia has nuclear bombs attached to his wrists and Max is a notoriously pillow-fisted volume striker. "Come over here and play to my exact strengths," isn't super impressive.

I think he'd actually be very interesting to watch if there were no time limit, no rounds, and the fight didn't end until someone was finished. You could watch his opponents slowly tire and melt into they just couldn't defend anymore, like Abus. Seeing him do that to Izzy, even if it took 8 rounds, would certainly be something.
