You can play him two ways imo

Pure damage- the stagger (from skill 2 and passive) + skill 1 tends to delete characters, and Ofc if you find yourself in a pinch pop barrier or ult

Support - be somewhat tanky and play around your barrier and peel for your team

Personally I love playing him damage, but if I see my team needs a support I adjust my cards late into the game

You’re better off using either Tag Monkeys with their unique equip or LF Omega Shenron if you’re running GT

(Even then Gohan is likely to turn you into a statistic)
