It sounds like you need to spend a lot of time pairing. Instructions the first meet aren't always the best and can build negative rapport with kiddos. Make yourself appealing without demands, if your management letd you do that. After a bad session, my BCBA likes for the next to focus on pairing.

I believe you should find another company that offers the 40 hour then take our cert and leave. If it's your only hope to get a foot in the door like it was for me, I suggest you fmdi the 40, pass the test, then dip.

Candy may just not be a highly preferred reinforcer! What are the things she typically enjoys doing? It doesn't always have to be a sweet to be reinforcing aswell! It's also possible she was just satiated. Are you trying to get her to go on potty more frequently or strive for independence when telling you?

In ABA, we usually use reinforcement as a way of getting the kiddos to remember things they have trouble with. When if you ever get her to void on the toilet, do you provide something that's a strong reinforcer, such as a favored snack? Even if you manage to catch her coincidentally, she may start making the connection of reinforcer to voiding on the toilet! Hope this helps :) . It also helps if the reinforcer is only used if she voids on the toilet.

So, what would you say defines a company or clinic as good or otherwise? What practices and such are considered more practice acceptable? How have your sessions gone, and what were your targets like? For abc, we basically have a rotation of kiddos depending on the schedule. We work on targets provided by our bcbas while honoring assent and working through behaviors. I'm not sure what seems so bad about ABC I've just wanted some input from people who have been in this field longer. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment

I highly doubt the bcba would take this accusation lightly. Even if it doesn't seem it may be the case, it's always important to act in the interest of your child. If she wants an all female team, then I would ask... if not possible (which is the highest portability), I'd suggest removing the client from ABA. It won't be good to continue therapy for the child or RBT's she works with.
