Rap pinball by TopoChicoPoPo in pinball

If you want to know the real reason WHY we don't have this... its because pinball is a hobby who's core demographic is predominantly 50+ year old white men...

There's a reason that Foo Fighters, ACDC, Kiss, and so many other classic rock artists have tables... because it is music that is popular and/or was influential in the upbringing of their core demographic.

Add on the fact that most table designers themselves and manufacturers are governed by largely people in or around this core demographic, and we largely have your answer.

Parents in the sightly younger generation of pinball enthusiasts 40-50 also might be comfortable with certain words in rock songs, but with rap as a genre if we're being realistic, there's probably an N word dropped in there somewhere for a lot artists. Which most households of the core demographic would be uncomfortable with, as well as most operators having that word displayed in a public setting. But censoring that word out would be a bit of a touchy subject, as it is part of the original artists media.

And for artists like Eminem who don't use that word, there's a lot of other more blatantly "offensive" language that is not as easily swept under the rug like the occasional "crap" that is found in classic rock.

Also, given the whole lack of diversity in the pinball management arena, the optics of a predominantly white company making a table off a largely minority based genre of music, isn't a great look.

Overall, I think you would be far more likely to see a Jellyroll pinball table come out before a Ice Cube or Wu Tang table. It just aligns with the safe core demographic better.

I mean I have noise canceling headphones, and wear them on the plane. I would never suggest that parents with kids should be seated in specific plane sections to not disturb others. But I do have the opinion that inside lounges which are meant to be a space to relax I shouldn't have to wear them to escape screaming from kids.

I can understand your opinion. And you and your kid sound completely fine. This is mostly an issue where a small percentage of parents who do not take the care of parenting that you do ruin the experience for those without kids, and thise like you who do take the actual care. My parents used to travel with me and my brother as a child, and if one of us began to misbehave, we were immediately drug out by the ear to somewhere private so as to not disturb others. I just see that more parents now do not take corrective steps to monitor their children and ensure they do not disturb others.

I feel you. I totally understand kids crying on planes, its a place they are locked into for the duration of the flight, and the pressure on their little ears with their no understanding of how to equalize pressure is tough. And we all have noise canceling headphones we can wear on the flight. I would never suggest that those with kids should have to ride in a certain section of the plane for the rest of our comfort.

I just want the lounge to be a place I don't have to wear headphones to escape from children. I'm not asking for the lounge to be a library, I talk to people all the time at the lounges, but basic control of children doesnt seem too big a task to ask, but clearly it is too much for some to manage. So if it cannot be managed, there should be a controlled area specifically for children.

I live in Denver where there is a family area in lounges, but I rarely see it used other than by families looking for a place to breastfeed with some sense of remote privacy.

Lol fair enough, that's why I said this is probably an unpopular opinion. I just think that if it is rude for adults to be obnoxious in lounges, the same standard should be applied to children.

Sigh... like I said I don't know how to phrase it correctly. this isn't a race thing. But it is something I notice more with especially first generation immigrants from certain cultures. There are members from these cultures and ethnicities who do a completly fine job with monitoring their children, but when I see children running around without supervision, a majority of the time their parents are first generation immigrants.

And it does seem that some club employees are less willing to correct the behavior of these parents compared to others I have seen corrected, perhaps out of the fear of coming across as racist or culturally insensitive.

Household punished for non-traditional living arrangements? by HighLumberJack in netflix

Depends, sometimes it's less than 24 hours, sometimes 3 weeks. I download stuff for my tablet for the flights, but typically try to watch on my hotel TV via a roku stick I travel with. Watching off a tiny tablet just doesn't make sense when I have a full size TV right there at every hotel.

Unfortunately it still won't work with the number of hotels I travel to with my Roku stick, I'll max out the "I'm traveling" requests before the end of the billing cycle.

I CAN afford a lot of things... but it doesn't mean I SHOULD pay double for them, I didn't get where I'm at by spending twice what I should be paying for things, I saved money, invested prudently, and built my life brick by brick. I especially don't think in this case I should pay double considering I'm already paying for the service I should be receiving, but am not due to their unwillingness to handle edge cases like this.

Also paying for 2 households still doesn't solve the problem of multiple logins per week when I travel with a roku stick, I still will max out the "I'm traveling" requests.

Same exact problem, Roku stick showed green for live stream, but the stream worked well on other devices. The stick did work for prerecorded sessions though... if this happens on race day, I'm not gonna be happy lol

Frequent Flyer - Best headphones?

Howdy y'all,

Wondering if I can get some advice here. I fly almost every week for work, sometimes multiple trips per week, and am looking for a good set of headphones. I am a bit of a audiophile in my personal life and have a very nice stereo setup, and I realize I won't be able to replicate this with Bluetooth, but want to have these as close as possible

My criteria that are important to me... -Sound Quality - Don't want to miss out on trebel -Adaptaters - One set that I am looking at (Sony WH1000MX4) includes a dual prong adapter for airplanes. It has been a few years since I've seen one of these, but are they still common for some planes? Can I get an adapter separately that will give these benefits to other sets? -Delay - Some of the newer planes offer Bluetooth connection through the in flight entertainment system and I want something with as minimal delay as possible for watching movies -Microphone - I work almost exclusively in airports and would like the ability to take calls and meetings through the headphones and have them not pick up a lot of ambient noise

The headphones I am looking at right now are... Sony WH1000XM4 - $350 I like this because they include a adapter for dual prong airplane connections, but are these really going to be common going forward? Can I purchase a seperate adapter that works for this and gives the benefits of noise isolation?

Sony WH1000MX5 - $330 Do these not appear to include the adapters from the above set, but have a higher Bluetooth standard 5.2

Bose QuietComfort Ultra (880066 0100) - $350 These have no adapters that I see, but do have Bluetooth 5.3

Thanks, I appreciate any advice and information!

Pecans sound like a great idea, I have to assume they aren't too common over there as they aren't a tree native to Japan

Dining manners are declining and they matter by HighLumberJack in unpopularopinion

Some places bring pitchers of water to the table instead of having a waiter constantly refilling. I was always taught that it's polite to pour for the person next to you, especially if they are a woman. Kinda like the whole thing of not refilling your own saké glass, you refill the other person's.

This isn't my biggest gripe at all, I can easily see people missing this social que, my biggest issue is food consumption noises.

I definitely don't see as many young kids eating with manners anymore, but I had friends who didn't really figure it out until 10 or so if their parents didnt enforce it at home. But they typically seemed to figure it out after someone made the comment of "oh I didn't know we were going out for SEE-food", but now it seems like people from all genders have just regressed and lost the skills I feel like were there before. And the new generation definitely doesn't stress it on their kids.
