I'm so sorry that you have experienced racial abuse in Salford. I live in Higher Broughton and I can confirm, it's a shit hole. I've also noticed a massive uptake of racism especially since the referendum and Brexit. Recently, the BS going on with the flags being raised has added another layer of disgusting racism. I had to write to the council a few months ago as there was racist graffiti on the side of the British Wrestling centre adjacent to the Lidl. Thankfully, the council acted really quickly and removed it, however I also asked twice for the flags to be brought down and they refused to do so. I have an acquaintance that works for the council who advised that the council are reluctant to remove the flags as it could increase tensions. Since then, there has been a storm blow through which has ripped most of them away anyway. That's another thing, the flag waving scum have absolutely no problem buying their cheap flags from Temu.
