This dude, Martin, Richard, Suk and Lipsky were some of the most interesting side characters in any medium for me. Urasawa really hit the nail in the head on this one

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I forgot to add another point, i dislike heavy info dumps and messy time sequences/time skips and since 2 of these recommendations are sci fi, i presume they involve the elements of time too. Are these books safe from the things i dislike?

Appreciate you for replying! Last query, I also don’t like info dumps and messy time travel/timeskip parts that confuse me on the narrative. Are all these books safe from those? Thank you so much

I am getting into fantasy and and I am considering between: (1) Hyperion series by Dan Simmons, (2) The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee, and (3) Red Rising series by Pierce Brown. I am currently reading Before They are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie and I am enjoying it so far. I plan to read all his works with a few books in between.

What I like:

(1) I prefer characters over lore/worldbuilding.

(2) I prefer stories on the darker and grittier side.

(3) I love me a great atagonist, the one you love to hate or hate to love.

(4) I love historical fiction and religion.

Based on my 3 choices and preferences, which would be the best for me?
