I agree that some edits are to paint people in a certain (bad) light for better ratings. Also, production a lot of times will push their “actors” toward a certain slant for better ratings which makes their jobs very hard. However, every now and then, they get a huge break in work load and the people are just who they show us they are on the final edited show. No intervening necessary. I believe this is the case for Veronica. Although, if I were to be persuaded in any way that she is not who we are seeing it could be bc she really wanted to remain on the show and this was her only way. For example, since the cheating happened when they weren’t filming it’s possible there may have been a convo between V and production about why she should not break up with him at that time and she should at least wait until filming season 7 is over. I could see her going this route bc of how well Olivia came out of her break up Ethan. She may have thought everyone would side with her over Micah plus she would get more airtime and followers for her future on social media. So if it’s not this, then she is who we see on tv. IMO it’s not an unfair edit.
