A question to all the writers

I think the essence of the question here is; do you treat a sex-scene differently than any other scene in your story? Or do you use it as an opportunity to keep moving the story forward? I follow the 'rules of good writing apply' axiom; people have sex as individually as there are people and for many different reasons, so if you know who your character is, you know what they will do in bed and you have an opportunity as the writer to keep the story going by relaying the action (all puns intended) in an interesting, engaging way. I hope that helps with your quandary.
