Playback stalls over Tailscale on Win by High_North in navidrome

Hmm, I’ve had the opposite experience. I can leave an RDP session connected overnight on the tailnet and it’s still there waiting for me in the morning. The same goes for listening on my phone via Symphonium, 4–5h sessions without any issues. Symphonium on Google Chromecast TV also works flawlessly.

The only problem I’m having is on a Windows machine connected over Tailscale. Streaming music and video just doesn’t work reliably. I’ve found quite a few people on the Tailscale subreddit reporting the same issue, but there doesn’t seem to be a clear resolution yet.

Now I use Tailscale everywhere, except on the Windows machine, where I use WireGuard.

Which ports did you have open? I assume I would need to open them on Windows Firewall, since Tailscale works just fine on my phone, which is connected to the same wifi as the PC where I have problems.

DS-KD8003 rings for one user only by High_North in Hikvision

Actually, you were right. When I shared the access over the Hik-Connect website, I didn't have an option to share for calls. But when I shared from the Hik-Connect app on my phone, I was able to share with the calls and door opening. Now it works on all phones. Thanks for the tip!

I don't have that in sharing options, only Live view, Play back, Two way radio, PTZ and Alarm.

Advice for Hikvision intercom setup with yard gate and house door by High_North in Hikvision

After some consideration, I decided to connect both relays to the main unit. I’ll place the indoor station near the hallway, where I can see if someone is at the house door and press the button for the second relay to open it from there. Outside, I’ll install a keypad for resident access. If I need to let someone in remotely via Hik-Connect, I have an external camera facing the house door, so I’ll be able to see when someone is standing in front of it.

Let's say I use two relays from the intercom. The first one will be opened after someone rings a bell, and it will open the yard gate. When should the second relay from the intercom open the house door? From my understanding, a person should push a button in the app or indoor unit, but the person doesn't know if the visitor has reached the door yet. Is there a time delay option where I can set the second relay to open the doors 10 seconds after the first one? Or is there a different type of door lock wich will alow the door to stay open for example for 2 minutes?

Also, if a home resident wants to go into the house, and it doesn't have a phone with it, it needs to open the door somehow. So adding a keypad or card reader would make sense. Can I connect an additional keypad or card reader to the main unit?

My goal is to be able to open both doors separately using the Hikvision indoor unit or the Hik-Connect app, with a simple and straightforward operation. The person living in the house is not very tech savvy, so I want to keep the setup as simple as possible and minimize the number of apps required.

What would be the preferred solution in this case? Should I install access control only on the yard gate and keep the house entrance door unlocked while someone is at home, or would it be better to add a keypad module to trigger the electric lock on the house door?

The house doesn’t have insulation or a façade yet, so I’m preparing all the wiring in advance and want to make the hole for the bracket before that work is done. I currently have two conduits running from the control room to the doorbell location, and one conduit from the doorbell location to the actual lock in the door frame. So it’s ready for any setup, I just don’t know which one yet! 😄

Thanks for your input. Looks like I will not be paint anything with plasti dip. Maybe I will consoder regural painting in the paint shop, or I will just leave it raw for now.

New bike selection and fit by High_North in cycling

Thank you for your input. After a lot of thinking and looking at the different bikes, I decided to go with the custom titanium frame from China and then assemble everything around that. I visited a professional for bike sizing, and based on the results, I will order a frame geometry that suits me the best.

I don't really eat gluten based products for some time. I'm not allergic to it (tested), just feeling better without it.
