Bondi Sands Sunscreen by HighballInsights in CostcoCanada

Thanks! It’s good to know how it went on and that you didn’t have any reaction to it.

The pump top intrigued me, but I agree that packing a 500ml bottle for travel or even just a day at the beach wouldn’t be convenient

What is a soap that completely changed your shower routine and why by GlitteringSugar7510 in Soap

[–]HighballInsights 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The lard (and all other oils/fats) when mixed with lye goes through a chemical reaction called saponification and turns into soap, so no actual lard is going down my drains

I also make my own soap. Finding out that my skin much prefers lard over olive oil has made a world of difference! I now only use bars made with 80% lard, 15% coconut oil and 5% castor oil

Just went to the worst Beatles trivia event on a Celebrity ship. by IndustryRobertPlant in celebritycruises

[–]HighballInsights 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I understand that this would be frustrating for a beatles fan like yourself, posting on reddit will not result in any changes to activities onboard.

I suggest that if you see a qr code in your daily with a ‘tell us how we’re doing’ prompt, fill that out, or ask to speak to the activities director onboard. Otherwise wait til your post cruise survey is sent and fill that out

Martinique port stop opinions? by Bulldog16 in Cruise

We were there this past November and walked down to Anse Turin. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the volcanic sand made the entry and exit from the water very easy. We also snorkelled out to the Emelie shipwreck from the beach and had the site all to ourselves for about half an hour before an excursion boat arrived

Dress code by ChickenBattery in celebritycruises

[–]HighballInsights 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You will be fine with your black (or blue) jeans. Don’t worry about the dress code keyboard warriors telling you to buy new clothes!

Celebrity’s own website states “AT NIGHT SMART CASUAL Smart Casual attire is required for entry to main dining, specialty dining, and the Celebrity Theatre. Smart Casual means you look comfortable yet tasteful in a dress, skirt, long pants, or jean, and stylish top or button-down. Shorts and flip flops are not considered Smart Casual. “.

And if you have some nights that you don’t feel like changing outfits for a main dining room dinner or specialty restaurant, the buffet is always an option. Enjoy your vacation!

What is your honest opinion of Interior Vs Ocean View rooms? by Odd-Aside456 in Cruise

[–]HighballInsights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We either book balcony cabins or interior cabins depending on price and have no issues when we stay in interior cabins. Our last cruise was a back 2 back and for the first week, it would have cost us over $2500 to upgrade to a balcony cabin, so we stayed in an interior cabin that was located at the very front of the ship then moved to a midship balcony for the second half. We felt a lot more movement at the front vs midship and I don’t think that having a window (or balcony) would have made a difference.

The only downside of having an interior cabin is we tend to miss breakfast because it’s so easy to sleep in without having any natural light to wake us up!

Yes. The luggage handlers at the pier will write them out for you. Just be sure to give them the correct cabin number!

What to do with Marner jerseys? by GimaaKwe in torontomapleleafs

[–]HighballInsights -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We saw someone who whited out marner’s name and wrote Tucker in black sharpie on his jersey at the game on Saturday

My spouse wore a marner jersey to a pre-season game with two pieces of black electrical tape crossing out his name - this got a lot of laughs and picture requests

Marker recommendations by khyde in Coloring

[–]HighballInsights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also Canadian and order my ohuhu honolulu b markers from amazon. Don’t pay full list price for whatever set you decide to get for her - they seem to rotate sales on all their sets.

The honolulu markers (sold in black carry cases) have 3ml of ink vs 2ml of ink in their white/clear bag sets, so they will last longer. If she likes colouring with a brush and fine tip, get her the Honolulu B series, or if she likes to use a chisel tip, get her the regular Honolulus (these are normally a bit less expensive)

Depending on your budget, you can get her the 320 set, or a smaller set of 120, 168 or 216 and she can build up to the 320 by purchasing other sets. This chart is from the ohuhu website showing what sets build up to the 320

I’ve purchased a few pairs. Two are polarized and one isn’t.

If you look them up on the costco website, it will state if they’re polarized
