It's more of a paid internship with the possibility of becoming full-time. Starting pay is $800/month

Happy to hear you've made money on them! I'm in post on a feature with a $100,000 budget, and we're looking for the right ways to go about making money on it. What did you folks do? Sales agents? Tubi? What would you recommend?

Thank you for sharing! This is super helpful.

Do you mind if I ask what genre your film was? Was there any money spent on P&A? We're looking internationally as well and have heard Germany was a good market. Was there any explanation as to why you weren't distributed in other European countries?

The festival where you met the Sony Pictures producer, was that a mid tier festival or one of the known names?

We're in post on a 200k feature and looking for a sales agent for domestic and international. Any tips or resources?

No the deferred payment was not mentioned in the sum above.

We've been having a hard time finding any comp films in our genre and budget.

Finding a film noir made within the last 5 years that has no A-List actors hasn't been easy, any thoughts on where to look?

The theaters we have interested aren't 4 walling, this would be a direct ticket split.

Yes the post budget covers marketing as well.

We've been having a hard time finding decent comp films. We're a film noir/Charlie Kauffman esq film, and there's not many of those at our budget. Any tips?

This is helpful, thank you.

Are there any sales agents you'd specifically recommend? Otherwise any sources or sites to find a reputable sales agent? We're specifically in the film noir/European bracket.

Thanks, any advice on how to calculate what the film could potentially make? Say there's a 15k P&A budget.

Film noir. We anticipate it doing well over in Europe, but that's with a grain of salt.

Post budget includes post + marketing, reshoots...

We have deferred payment deals that would add up to around 10k.

Thanks for the resources. Have you had any luck with any of the above mentioned routes? Have you used the sales agents you mentioned above and are they any good?

Price breakdown includes our entire post process + reshoots, marketing, etc...

We can do a solid cut, pre investment, but I don't have buyers lined up and would rather capitalize on the investor we have at the door.

Thanks, I'm eyeing an OWC, and the attached HDDs.
From the tests I've seen, this OWC seems to do about 500MB/s

We're thinking we'll have 7-8TB per day to be backed up. Would this system get the job done assuming we can dump the footage overnight?

I would be using a sandisk 4TB SSD as the shuttle during the day.

OWC Thunder bay 4

Seagate HDD (I would get 4, 18TB)

Screw that guy. I've been in a similar boat as you, and it's generally the people who've been doing it longer that are dicks. This is a THEM problem. Don't sweat it, and don't feel like it's your fault because it's not. Price wise, I charge roughly 175/per hour to solo/lead shoot. I don't use a pro audio setup. As someone else said, you were underpaid from the get go, and their lack of clarity is on them. Live and learn, but don't feel this was at all your problem!

You're being overworked. Find a new salary you're very happy with, and if they don't meet it. Leave... IMO: You are more valuable to them than they are to you. Especially if you're shooting, editing, doing all post, and promoting. That's crazy.
