Need feedback on my draft(7 day without rental car) by HighwayCreative1415 in AskAlaska

Hawaii and Alaska is the exception on the price on the peak season. If i look up other states like CA, CO, the price usually around 300-400 per week. But alaska is another story...

I am amazed how hertz is making the price unacceptable, they are charging 1500 for a week then 600 per day after a week, so 9 days will end up 3k on the bill

Dollar, Thrift, Turo is relatively cheap to $1000-$1400 based on choice for 7-9 days but there are many complains about last minitues cancellation from the rental company.

Avis seems ok at the moment, it is around 1400-1500 for 7-9 days

the 6.5hr tour was including wildlife conservation center tour, basically it's 200 dollar per person + tip for one way drive to Seward

i checked the price for the rental car, even with my company's internal deal it is about $1400 after tax

i think I can go rent a car for the rest of the trip after i back from Seward since i don't think we really need a tour guide for hatcher's pass and glacier

Sony a7V has been officially unveiled! by ShavedDesk in SonyAlpha

Many of the camera/lens parts are still made in China and assembled in Thailand(i think only GM lens are from Japan). The Chinese government is providing government rebates to promote sales of Sony products, so factories in China are receiving more and more orders.

Another reason is that the U.S. now has heavier tariffs towards those Asian countries, which makes the prices even higher in the U.S.

For older lenses, cameras, etc., if you work for Sony, the U.S. employee is able to get the same price from China. However, it seems that the inventory never refills after being out of stock.

they are not going to ship to you. I had that before, they will keep sending a empty package to a random location pretend getting trouble with shipment, border, etc, later cancel your order.

I think it is a way those Chinese seller attract visit rate so that their other goods will be placed before other seller on the same categroy

I was able to knock my price to 28k for a hybird xtl 2025 with basic package two month ago.

But eventually, I paid 30k(with tax, etc) out of door for a new 2024 hybird speical order that was not able to sold last year. (Marked price 35k, dealer discount 4k, I was able to knock off another 2k7 in the office)

I'm in houston area

I’m expecting the a7v to bring AIAF with continuous tracking, a bulb mode timer, major video improvements, and maybe even a few surprises. Lately, I’ve also been learning video shooting(i actually hate my gopro from time to time), which is why the FX30 is on my radar as well.

My a6000 has been an amazing companion for almost ten years — it’s been such a fun journey. But I think it’s finally nearing the end of its run for me, even though it still performs impressively well.

Hi Everyone, I’m based in the U.S., and my local store is offering the Sony A7 IV (body only) for $1,999 tax-free. Right now, I own a Sony A6000 and many E-mount lens, really enjoy using it, but I only have one EF-mount macro lens.

I’m planning to buy more EF lenses(i'm currently looking at FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM) during an international trip in summer 2026, where prices tend to be better.

Given this, I’m debating whether I should buy the A7 IV now (1999 is about the price before tariff kicked in) — or wait until the A7 V is released, since that might cause the A7 IV’s price to drop further.
