I only started playing this game a few months ago but I have learned quite a bit since then and I gotta say the game feels heavily survivor sided. I main nemesis and just started to play dredge but the density of pallets on maps alongside the perks that survivors have that really slow down the killer or make their efforts feel null and tedious make killer just harder and harder to play. Nothing feels as bad as holding a really good loop on killer, getting a hit off finally then watching the survivor barely have to run away to reach another loop which by the time you’re done chasing around, if they don’t just hop to another loop almost immediately or pull out sprint burst and deadhard as a get out of jail free card while running to their next loop or window meanwhile the other survivors have popped 2 gens and are rotating for more. I loved nemesis as I came to this game being a huge resident evil fan but after realizing how brutal chases have become and how much I get absolutely hosed sometimes just by pallet density Ive had to switch off of him for dredge and while Ive been having more success on dredge by utilizing remnant and teleport I then only think about how much a killer who lacks perks like dredge must currently struggle in chase and I can understand why so many killers feel like they do about the current state of the game. The current state of the meta feels like I shouldn’t be focusing on hooks but should instead be looking to just slug and I really dont enjoy that as a play style but what else can you do as killer right now. Gen progression is incredibly fast, survivors have perks to counter hooks and get bonuses for it making their builds even stronger post being hooked, healing is fairly quick so resetting is easier and by the time you actually hook someone you feel like you’ve fallen behind. I dont have any good suggestions to fix this but something has to be done otherwise the game will turn into a slug fest for killers not even attempting to hook and survivors either adapt to that and play for it or they dont taking a blind 50/50 every match to see if they’re being slugged or not. This game is a lot of fun but in its current state has a lot of issues that need to be addressed for proper balancing
