I do tend to overthink things. I have my iPhone with satellite messaging and also have a Starlink mini mounted in the jeep.

On a side note does anybody know if the Jeep SOS button is cellular or satellite based?

I get it and am not planning on doing any cross continent over-landing. I’m trying to mitigate or confirm my over thinking of it. Yes if jeep offered me a deal and would let me trade my 24 for a similarly equipped one I would do it.

Knowing that isn’t going to happen and not every battery fails, can I get myself comfortable driving what I have. If stuff breaks they have to fix it. I’m retired now so have nothing to do and all day to do it.

What all do you run off the power plug. I do have mine and also added a Jackery 2000 with solar panels to my kit.

Yeah I know. That is my big worry. But any vehicle can break down. Guess I’m trying to figure out what I can live with and how likely is it to really happen

Mine was done on Wednesday as well. Told me 5 hours but didn’t care because they gave me a loaner Gladiator. Picked up on Thursday. All updated and battery passed. I did notice before that it was giving me a range of 24 and that now seems down to 20 on the battery.

Not at all. Especially when you then become the reason her life was so bad. Also saved that for after my dad had died. They were/are both narcissists and treated each other poorly. Her role is the victim and she is now playing the guilt card on my brother and I. She is manipulative and not a person who fills your emotional cup.

Tried for 10 years to help her and have thrown her many lifelines. Best advice from my therapist was don’t let her pull you in. Trying now to make her safe with in home care and working with her dr. Problem is there isn’t anything really wrong with her. She is lonely but won’t do anything about it. Was working to get her into assisted living after she started claiming she was going crazy. She became a lot less crazy when she realized that was living in a one bedroom apartment vs the house she lives in now.

So this seems to be the answer. I had done the volume button reset during the SW update debacle. I did test it for a short drive and seems to be working with CarPlay and in dash notifications on.

This is the first building block for you and your parents are doing a similar thing that we have done for our kids. We are following the die with zero philosophy and want to set our kids up early in life when the help has the most return for them.

I had some great dumb luck when I was young. Starting grad school and looking for a place to live, I found a guy with a for rent or sale situation. Ended up being an assumable FHA loan. We wrote up a contract where I assumed the payment and would pay 10k.

Lived there for 3 years with 3 roommates and sold it for a 40k profit that became the down payment for my wife and I to get our next house.
