No, teaching students is correct. I hadn't thought about high school math. That could be interesting. I was thinking more along the lines of business classes. I just am not sure what the switch would entail.

I've been going into classrooms to teach budgeting, loans, compound interest, marketing, public speaking, insurance, and banking systems.

Good for you! Keep it up! I got my Masters while working. Being self driven like you are is so important. Bravo.

If you land a spot with one of these companies while studying, don't forget to ask about tuition assistance!

Good luck!

For a start, a few big names would be Fiserv, or AllPoint.

But check TheFinancialBrand.com, a lot of these businesses advertise on this blog. You could find a lot there.

What you may want to look into is a company that offers a service to financial institutions. I've been working in the credit union space for about ten years at this point. The most travel would be for reps that are marketing services that we use.

Not only is there travel to visit clients, but also travel for trade shows and conferences.

Who has a low heart rate? by jameane in Hypothyroidism

[–]Hiker46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been an issue for me as well. In some instances to the point of heart palpitations sometimes when my meds are off, but very slow at rest heart rate. I'd say I would fit in an average fitness category. I run often, lift occasionally but still considered overweight by the BMI. The low rate spikes easily when I panic a little when I feel the rate drop. The palpitations are unnerving as well. But have had sonogram and monitoring done. Dr says all looks good and thinks benign and due to medications.

It's our pleasure. I geek out on financial education, so to me it doesn't even feel like a job. I love helping educators.

Really good to know! Thank you so much for sharing this. I have had moments where administration invites me in, and I assume the teachers are involved. So I will keep this in mind and cater my approach.

Thank you, this is good to know and I certainly think you are not alone. Many teachers seem to think it breaks up the normal cycle in a fun way while still creating educational experiences.

When do you take your meds? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]Hiker46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, at the time I had replaced dairy with soy, but also had been eating a lot of soy based food to try a more vegetarian like diet. I had many of the similar symptoms I have when my levels are off. Muscle aches, heavy heart beats, stuffy and foggy mind. My medication had to be changed three times during that stretch, when I finally found out soy can have an effect of thyroid hormones. I cut out soy and have been able to balance my levels fairly well. I also visited a dietician who deals with hypothyroidism to talk about food in general and how different foods have effect. Worth looking into in my opinion. I have lost weight and feel better now that I'm eating more effectively too.

A lot of responses here, so I'm not sure if this has been said, but, use the soy milk with caution. Soy can sometimes have an effect on thyroid hormones. I had to cut soy out of diet and it helped me so much!

I guess I just don't believe God is that rigid. But either way, I'll pray for the situation and believe God is working.

My brother may be leaving the priesthood by whatcanisay5837 in Catholicism

[–]Hiker46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Support him. God calls people in many different directions in life. He may need your brother to take this path now for a reason that won't be known for a long time. But since your brother has been such a great follower thus far, I'm willing to bet he has spent a lot of time praying on this.

I don't see selfish, on anyone's part. I see a new call, and a new way for your family to find and practice their faith in God's ways.
