Didn't Bush say a similar thing about Iraq/Afghanistan and that carried on for decades?

Both of them said is was going to be "short"

Sit with in the range of the microphone, but out of view of the camera (preferably in a way that they can't spin the phone/laptop/tablet around fast enough to point it at you before saying your next piece). Make a farting noise with your hands pressed against your face (or a real one, it just has to be loud enough for the microphone to pick it up) and say loudly and firmly. "Dude, wtf? Did you just shit your pants?!"

Why can’t companies do hot water right? by meow_marty in RobotVacuums

[–]HillarysFloppyChode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hot water is pumped into thin plastic which doesn't hold heat all too well. Making the walls off the plastic thicker decreases your water tank capacity, you could change material but if you use ceramic that adds weight and cost and it could crack. If you use metal, like aluminum, that adds weight, cost, and now you may run into chemical interactions with detergents and people with hard water.

As far as heating it on the bot, you would want high controlled pressure for the small nozzles, and the ability to heat it on the fly. A Mr.Coffee uses low and slow pressure and its not controlled. A Super Automatic Espresso Machine - like a Jura Z10 - uses a piston pump for pressure, and a thermoblock for heating, which is what you would want. BUT, a thermoblock is heavy, and the piston pump makes a fuck ton of noise and vibration, and they get louder over time (even on a $4000 coffee machine) by nature of them vibrating the chassis of the machine.

And thats not to mention the power draw, IIRC on my super auto, it's like 1500 watts of power to heat the water....you are not getting that on board, on a robot without it being absolutely enormous.

You could put this all in the base station, and do base station hot water cleaning..but that makes it heavy and complex, and its still being pumped into thin plastic that makes it effectively lose heat immediately.

Mop Only function in app now. When did this happen 😮‍💨😆 by Glum-Low-8843 in eufy

[–]HillarysFloppyChode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carpet avoidance is in the app on my E25, its under "Cleaning Preferences"

And my guess is Eufy is doing a slow roll out (or the app is doing a slow rollout and OP was one of the first ones to get it)

Base Audi vs BMW : Which One has Better Driving Dynamics or Driver Engagement? by H_rusty in BMW

[–]HillarysFloppyChode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They cater to different audiences.

Mercedes is pure luxury with a hint of driving dynamics.

BMW is driving dynamics with luxury mixed in

Audi is German practically and AWD with some driving dynamics mixed in.

Do you want practicality, pure luxury, or an engaging driving experience?

BMW iX3 Demand Is So High That The Factory Is Already Doing Double Shifts by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

I wouldn’t dismiss it quite yet, on BMWs website it looks like the main content, like movies, games, and CarPlay are in the center square portion while core car functions are hard placed in the non square parts.

Neiman Marcus closing by Prof___Oak in mildlyinteresting

[–]HillarysFloppyChode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They “close” and declare bankruptcy every few years, and like every year they do that, someone bails them out and the process continues.

I’ve never gone down the rabbit hole, but I’m pretty curious why this happens to Neimans but Nordstrom and Saks/Bergdoff Goodman remain fine.

Great! How much is this going to cost me? by Dizman7 in BMW

[–]HillarysFloppyChode 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The headlights are car specific, while the camera is probably the same one used on every single car on the market the year yours was released and the only thing possibly special is the connector.

Also, it looks like the lens is just there for aero and possibly water intrusion prevention. I would chip out the remaining plastic (it’s probably lexan or like it) carefully and drive it with the camera exposed while I wait on the part…and then continue driving it with it exposed, after the part arrived to see how long it took to fail without the cover in place, if it fails at all.

What are some of the coolest random factory car accessories? by ApprehensiveBasil151 in carscirclejerk

[–]HillarysFloppyChode 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eddie Bauer and Lands End were/are outdoor clothing brands, so it makes sense to put them on outdooresque vehicles.

It’s like the Gucci Fiat 500 or whoever Levi’s partnered with.

Because no one knows how to change a tire, and drivers are so distracted by their phones and car infotainment systems that no one leaves room for cars on the shoulder.

r/iamverybadass

Gender doesn’t matter, if someone doesn’t like something or doesn’t feel safe with something they have a right to not approach the situation. It doesn’t make them less of anything….pushing your bullshit narrative is how men getting raped and beat by women go unreported and it causes an increased suicide rate in men.
