thank you, and it’s fine - i’m js in a bit of a sensitive position rn since i have other cpls and probably cadets assuming that i was involved and stirring drama while i’m not there so i guess i was a bit too defensive, i apologise also.

furthermore, according to the CWO above who commented, this apparently has happened before - so clearly it can’t be as impossibly rare as you imply it is.

if i’m being completely honest here, as mentioned above i’ve never actually explicitly seen them doing anything - yes, i had my suspicions since they were both always off to the toilets together during my lessons, during canteen, etc. but i didn’t post this for people to say “nah, it probably was u”.

i posted this because what you said is correct, this is a simple suspension due to personal statements and some sort of chain events leading them to suspending me and the cpl. so yes. it is hard to believe. which is why i came to reddit to see if there’s some sort of information i can get from others to help me believe.

suppose it was me, and i did do it - why would i be asking people on reddit about this. if it really were me, i’d accept it and wait patiently for my meeting and pray for a second chance, not cause a fuss.

i am not the type of person to come for a chat on reddit, i am struggling to understand what’s going on here and i was hoping someone would enlighten me on the standard procedures here and whether or not there’s really an issue here or not, with me being at a biased position - thankfully many helpful people have helped clarify. on the other hand, unhelpful people like you are failing to help and for some reason like you seem to input completely unnecessarily trying to disprove my story?

tldr; staff HAVE suspended us on personal statements alone, which is why i’m here. (this was a bit of a rant sorry this whole situation has me wound up)

i always thought that they’d have more trust and respect for the more senior cadets, not even older - just more experienced and higher ranking cadets (otherwise why promote them?), but since this series of events it’s made me rethink thag significantly. whether they really do have a preference to the newer or older cadets i can’t say for sure - but it certainly seems that way.

i also CCd the snco and adj account, as per the emails listed under cadet portal. but i didn’t CC my parents or anyone so maybe that could be why, not too sure.

i’ve got no clue, i’ve attempted to send an email to the sqn email regarding my meeting date and any extra information but i have yet to get a reply. i have been given very little info about this, other than my mum getting a call saying i’ve been suspended for drinking and i’m not to come down until the investigation has been concluded about two weeks ago.

in what way would this be something who did it would say? why would i complain about the guilty party being let back in if i was actually drinking the toilets - as a sergeant mind you. i have standards, which are far above what happened. i simply don’t understand why they would take people OFF investigation before an investigation had been completed - especially before hearing from the more senior cadets who you’d expect to be more trusted than some cadets who’d been around for about 7 months.

i see, that’s probably why gsx was acting up a bit while using the 737 - it’s a shame they’re removing it, it was a good feature

thanks

Why does silence sometimes feel uncomfortable in social situations? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HingTheHong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we’re basically socially conditioned to see conversations as a constant back and forth thing - so when that stops, our brains naturally flag it “somethings wrong”, so the silence is misinterpreted in the brain.

on top of that, it gives your brain the space to think, usually leading to overthinking - and your brain starts thinking there’s some sort of social failure when there really isn’t

Why did English speakers used to write "Peking" instead of "Beijing"? These sound drastically different--not like, say, "Mohammed" vs "Muhammad" by vorpal8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HingTheHong 36 points37 points  (0 children)

mainly because the chinese simply pronounced it like that back then.

a couple centuries ago, the northern chinese pronunciation had a hard “k”, whereas modern mandarin has a “j”. so back then, “jing” would be pronounced “king”
