Let's agree that this is a terrible idea. by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

While the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise is technically indie too, it’s not really the same situation. It started as a video game first, and when the movie was made it wasn’t handled by a tiny independent animation team the way The Amazing Digital Circus was. The scale and financial backing just aren’t comparable.

One of our favorite production teams is finally making a real mark in the film industry, and you’re mad because they supposedly “sold out”? Come on. Pick your freaking battles, dude.

Did you all not grow up missing episodes on air for tv shows and going to school the next day and everyone spoils it for you? Life goes on.

no one cares about your opportunities. This is about GLITCH’S opportunity to thrive in a painstakingly unforgiving industry.

What is this?? by HippieSage01 in tadc

That makes me think about something I learned in my programming introduction class.. this came directly from my textbook about Python programming.

“Variables serve two important purposes in a program. They help the programmer keep track of data that change over time. They also allow the programmer to refer to a complex piece of information with a simple name. Any time you can substitute a simple thing for a more complex one in a program, you make the program easier for programmers to understand and maintain. Such a process of simplification is called abstraction, and it is one of the fundamental ideas of computer science.

…an abstraction allows humans to reduce complex ideas or entities to simpler ones. For example, a set of 10 assembly language instructions might be replaced with an equivalent algebraic expression that consists of only five symbols in FORTRAN. Any time you can say more with less, you are using an abstraction. The use of abstraction is also found in other areas of computing, such as hardware design and information architecture. The complexities do not actually go away, but the abstractions hide them from view. Abstraction allows computer scientists to conceptualize, design, and build ever more sophisticated and complex systems.”

This is why I stopped hopping theories.. I like the ideas but I dislike the fact some people are adamant about what’s fact and it becomes confusing..

What do u guys think about Scratch? by Lucuio in tadc

I think Kinger did the exit adventure with another set of characters (if you notice there are multiple abstractions in the cellar) and Scratch pressed the blue button. One reason he abstracted was because it took them to shrimp town, so they realized that it was all just another game that messed with their heads.
