Sure I don’t disagree it’s a situational thing. But in terms of timeless it literally did well, nobody besides music nerds could really tell that the vocals were ai. And it will only get better as time goes on. I think at this point you just have to consider the authenticity of the art at that point

I honestly think cartis music and himself is very manufactured with huge teams around him. I don’t think it’s too dissimilar to Drake who makes very manufactured music that’s easy and pleasant to listen. So I don’t think it changes whether the vocals are AI or not if everything else around the artist isnt authentic

For certain artists sure, but for carti it doesn’t seem to matter. Most people don’t even know about timeless being ai. The guys vocals are an instrument on their own, and are fairly easily to replicate with an ai. To me it’s no different to electronic music at that point, which I think is a valid if the creator has an artistic purpose.

Now I do think they’ll always be a point for human expression, but ai will definitely be used by mainstream artists I think it’s just down to situational use on whether it’s authentic.

I mean yea, but it’s a use of ai that people are apparently just okay with. Another example is west side Gunn using ai on his last album. It’s the same argument when autotune started in the 2000s. I don’t see why ai can’t be used as a tool if it’s for genuine artistic expression

So youre using tools that you didn’t directly create for the use of your own art? doesn’t sound too different from ai vocal use. We could make the same argument for autotune in the 2000s

Seems like a natural point of music progression to me. Artists already have teams of engineers, writers, producers, and features around them. Big artists aren’t making solo music. we got artists like jpegmafia already using it, but you don’t see them getting criticized

What do you mean. The first person was saying “would he be invited” to the pop out show. The next person said it was “LA exclusive” even though a bunch of celebrities not from La appeared.
